If you care about history, Old Goa is certainly a place not to be missed. It's just a shame that the information boards in English have too many spelling errors, which is unacceptable. After all, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Old Goa offered lots to see and tells its history in many well organized venues. Plan on a whole day with good walking shoes to tour. It really was a meaningful day of visiting the Spice Farm, churches, and historical homes.

Old Goa consists of just 3 churches from the 1600's...historically significant, but is that really what you are looking for when you travel to Goa?

15 mins from Panaji lies what's left of Old Goa, comprising mainly a grand cathedral and monastery dating back to the early seventeenth century.

Worth a visit, the Churches are impressive, and historically relevant in how the Portuguese successfully incorporated their culture and religion in Southern India.

I like coming to Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa. It's a beautiful church with tons of history from the times the Portuguese used to rule Goa. It attracts Indian and foreign visitors. The body of St. Francisco Xavier is preserved here for over 500 years. A must visit when in Goa.

Full of classic churches along with temples. Wax museum also nearby. Remind of our culture and Portuguese administration.
