Wonderful forest in idukki. Chinnar is located in marayoor of devikulam grama panchayath in idukki district. Place of star tortoise. A rehabilitation centre of star tortoise. Have water falls and lakes and other beautiful scenarios.

This place looks calm but has millions of animals in it. Take a night-safari trip from the local people near Marayoor and you can spot some beautiful wild animals.

From munnar,we hired ajeep to reach Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary and it was 55 kms away from there.Jeep ride to Chinnar was really memorable with dozen of beautiful memories.

Visit during season, avoid in summers as it gets too hot. chances are good to visit wildlife. sight seeing can be done with a guide as they are aware of the wildlife movements

Between 7 to 8 AM we were lucky enough to spot about a dozen of Peacocks on roadside at different places, an elephant group, Sambar Deer and a Bison.

Very good and attractive place. small water falls and trekking spots are also there. But the threat of letches and located remotely. Suitable and comfortable for bachelors.
