Patriotic feeling is overwhelming here! The crowd is amazing and the organised way everything is done is wonderful to see!! I just wish there was more love than rivalry nurtured amongst the two countries! Love conquers all! A must go to place!

Worth a visit for the pure theatre that surrounds this ritual. Members of the Indian & Pakistani armies face each other at the border crossing each trying to outperform each other. This all watched by an enthusiastic crowd.

Beating of the Retreat cannot be described in words. The atmosphere so charged, it only can be experienced. Every visit it's still a new experience, have done it twice over 7 years. The experience is too good.

What a brilliant experience. My only complaint would be the poor crowd control but we arrived very early and scores some great seats. The ceremony is symbolic and intended to provoke and raise feelings of nationalistic pride for both sides. The noise was incredible, the...More
