My wife and I both volunteered for 2 hours in the community kitchen when we were at the temple. She cleaned peas and I served lentils in the dining rooms. Was of the most rewarding and yet fun experiences in travelling to over 20 countries together.

One of the greatest places on earth. Felt such peace and serenity. Not only a place to visit and view, but there is so much history around and information available to you, including the museum with numerous historical artefacts. Have never felt so spiritual and at peace in another place, second visit and not my last.

Personally, never felt so much peace anywhere earlier ! You can just sit inside the temple premises for hours and absolutely love it . The queues to get into the main temple are well organized, the Prasad given is delicious, the footwear is well taken care of at the entry. Make sure to buy a Kada from outside the temple.

The volunteers asked my wife not to touch me even for photos. We both had to keep head covered as a cultural tradition. So next time I should... More

I am grateful to the Sikh people for the privilege to have been allowed to visit this amazing temple. One of the most beautiful places on earth. With no expectation of anything they looked after my footwear, supplied head covering for respect and allowed me into their temple. To walk round, take photo's and ask questions at my pleasure. Then... More

one cannot review places of such grandeur and faith. words do not do justice to the feeling one gets as he steps in to the "Golden Temple". the simplicity of the worshippers and the staff vis a vis the grandeur of the temple make a very unique experience. do visit in the evening around 5pm so that you can see... It is the holiest Gurdwara of Sikhism.Sri Harmandir Sahib Amritsar has a unique Sikh architecture and is built at a level lower than the surrounding land level. It is a beautiful place.

Suggest you take a good guide as its overly crowded and to get a good darshan and hassel free movement , strongly suggest it . Never give it a miss and it makes you feel that devine
