This is one of the smaller Wats, but is still worth a visit if you find yourself with some extra time while in Ayutthaya.

Wat Phu Khao Thong is by far our favourite temple in Thailand. It’s so beautiful, and best part: there was almost nobody. It was was so peaceful. We went there by bicycle, it’s a bit further than most temples but so worth it.

I must say this is one of the best-kept temple(pagodas) here in Ayutthaya. About 90 steps to climb to reach the top, the view from the top is spectacular. There are some more ruins nearby to give a contrast to the architecture. Since its renovated,...More

4 Wat Phu Khao Thong One of the 8 WATS on my LIST (See Ayutthaya Historical Park review) PLEASANT SURPRISE! AMAZING WHITE-SPLASHED STUPA! Chedi superstructure like a “THAI PYRAMID” Usual dresscode for temples (Cover knees and shoulders) LOCATION Considered the furtherest WAT from town, adjunct...More

You still have to walk but not all the way. This is worth visiting and the shopping and food at the end is great.

A little out of the way. Looks great from afar, but you can't climb up the chedi as of Dec 2017. Not sure if this is permanent or temporary. It also seems to have been restored recently (it looks much, much whiter than it does...More

From afar I was able to see this nice white temple. Upon arrival it looks even more beautiful. I actually searched this online and saw that it looked less appealing compared to it's current appearance. There isn't much here but it is a nice place...More

It's a bit out of the way compared to other Ayutthaya sites, which is also good as there are usually minimal tourist around. It was part of our Ayutthaya tour stop, and when we were there, there were no other groups around. It is currently...More

All wats may have active monks at any time. Pants or very long shorts that cover the knees, and shirts and tops that cover the shoulders and midriff are appropriately respectful of the culture and local practices.
