Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had visited this attraction earlier in the year and decided to have another look just in case there had been some improvement. Sadly they answer was no! In fact everything looked so neglected that we wondered if it had been like this pre Covid.
Wooden walk ways and signs were rotting away and despite the presence of a number of long tailed boats, there was absolutely no sign of life…even the monkeys had disappeared!
We wandered around the concrete walkways and it is an interesting walk though the mangroves and it really is a shame that it has been allowed to deteriorate into its present condition.
All that can be hoped is that if there is a resurgence in tourism, then money will be found to renovate what could be a really good visitor attraction for Koh Lanta. We would love to see it restored.

I'm not sure what has happened unless Covid is the reason for a deserted but very interesting place to visit. There was no one in sight! Everything, except the toilets, was closed and it looked as if the whole area had been abandoned.
There is a concrete walkway through the mangroves which is certainly worth the effort in the heat. There were assorted long tail boats but no sign of life! Along the walkway, were placed what had been information boards but any information had long since disappeared. We assumed that the walkway was circular but at one point, it had collapsed so we had to retrace our steps.
It was certainly quiet with no other visitors. We had an occasional glimpse of some monkeys and there was some interesting bird life.
I'm not sure if there is an admission charge but as no one was there, it turned out to be a free trip!
Probably worth visiting but would be so much better if maintenance was improved and the boat trips were available.

We found this hidden gem by incident while exploring the island by scooter.
Totally unprepared, we booked a private longtail boat tour for an hour to see the mangroves. That only was fully worth the price we paid, but the best had yet to come.
After a while, the captain started making monkey alike sounds and within the wink of an eye, 6 monkeys (including a baby monkey) jumped into the boat.
Never before, we experienced such a bunch of friendly and loving monkeys.
While feeding them pieces of pineapple and watermelon ( so THAT s why the captain brought it!) we were able to cuddle them and gave the monkey a finger for handshake.
One monkey was so clever to take an empty waterbottle and put it in my lap. It seemed to be thirsty.
Captain had a full bottle of fresh water and gave that monkey some.
This trip was so awesome, I would even travel from Krabi to Lanta especially to experience this again.
Unbelieveble that this trip has only so little reviews.

What a nice trip! We could hardly understand the longtailboat skipper but this did not matter at all. Beautiful nature and the interaction with the cute monkeys was quite enough to make a long lasting impression. The trip does not come cheap but what the hell, you are on holiday and contribute to a lifestyle of co-existing with nature as the people exploiting the operation safeguard the mangroves for future generations.
This activity is way to low on the to-do-list and needs more votes!

We hired a motorbike and got a motorboat from the park for 1hr for two persons at 1000 batt total .We enjoyed the trip so much we returned a few days later around 3pm and hired a two person kayak ( 20o batt an hr) .it was fantastic .We paddled downstream and saw loads of monkeys. We even had three monkeys jump on our kayak looking for food.If you don’t want the monkeys to jump on ur kayak don’t paddle too close to the bank.we had two monkeys fight on our boat which made me a bit nervous as it rocked the boat a bit, but it was a great experience and well worth doing. We only did one hr kayak but saw monkeys almost immediately so it was the best 200 batt trip we did

Absolutely a must visit as it is a lush mangrove forest with many water outlets leading to beautiful open bays. This forest is loaded with wild life, birds and monkeys galore.
First time I see monkeys swimming...it was amazing

Really nice half-day trip. Everything smooth: hotel pick-up and transfer to Thung Yee Pheng Mangrove Forest. Saw landwalking fish, friendly monkey, the Saladan pier, colorful crabs and very large fish at the small farm by the end of the trip. Very friendly people and good prices (we booked from the hotel and got a group discount, as we were 5 incl 3 kids aged 3, 6, 8)

Did the 1/2 day and it was perfect. From pick up at our hotel on, everything went very smooth. Enjoyed the long boat ride thru the mangroves and then stopping at several islands to explore a bit. Gorgeous area. The kayak portion was great as well, exploring a cave and more cool beaches and paddle through of cool formations. Our guide, Free, was great at showing the sites, offering to take pictures and just had that great thailand happy vibe. The monkeys were fun at the end as well.
Felt like good value as well. Would definitely recommend.

We hired a taxidriver who took us to the Mangroves. We did not know what to expect but was really surprised. A longtail Boat took us up the rivers at high tide and showed us the forest and Monkeys. A hole lot of monkeys in different places. We were abel to feed them , and one of them also came with us on the boat. A really Nice adventure in Koh Lanta

I don‘t know how much a mangrove safari costs for a single person.
We enjoyed the restaurant and seafood and the owner spent time to show us the entire spot and explained us the activities like safari.
Prices for food were higher than average but worth the money. Everything we had was a feast and all in all great experience.
