Similan island is a beautiful place however be sure to check out its availability. This island is only opened for 6 months every year. I was staying in Phuket and it was a 2 hour drive to the terminal then another 1.5 hour of boat ride to the first island of the Similan Group. It's really beautiful.

I'm not usually one to write poor reviews, I'm the one reading the poor reviews laughing at the way people can pick holes in anything. However, on this occasion we were bitterly disappointed. We did the Similan Islands as we had heard how beautiful they are. We booked with sea star tour company and this is not a reflection on... More

We visited the park as part of a day tour and were impressed with so much. First they keep it very clean here, it is nice to visit a beach without trash. The sea life and coral are also stunning as the water is crystal clear. The beaches are in incredible white sand, it feels like you are walking on... More

It spends 1.5hrs by speed boat to this islands. only 1.5hrs to arrive into paradise. It is very beautiful but also overcrowded as there are so many tourists. We were impressed about the magnificent views by the top of the mountain, don't forget to climb to the top, it is absolutely amazing!

This tour turned out to be a very long day - 13 hours in all. Snorkeled 3 different sites then had lunch on Mu Ko Similan beach. Clear blue water - white powdery said and wonderful rock fornmations. Very crowed with over 25 boats filled wit snorklers and swimmers.

Decided to go similan islands as have already visited phi phi. They are worlds apart, in distance and also in terms of beauty and quality. Sure you have to get on a minibus/van at 6am, shuttle around to pick up other passengers, possibly squeeze with 10-13 other passengers on the 1.5hrs journey to Thaplamu pier and subsequently its another 1h20mins... Absolutely breathtaking scenery, white sands and clear blue water. All this is somewhat spoiled by the hordes of tourists on day tours though (of which we were another two, I know: pot, meet kettle)

We went there with a joined tour (Like Andaman agency). We bought the tour package earlier so we got discount more than a thousand bath, normally it costs you around THB3,500-4,200 depends on where they pick you up. The trip starts quite early at 5.00AM morning (we stayed in Phuket) and driver has to drive around to pick up other... More

We have visited the Similan islands 2 x this year coming over by sailing boat from Phuket Yacht Haven. The trip starts with a sail around the southern tip of Phuket and then heading back up in a north westerly direction to the Similan islands. It is a fantastic way to see more of the islands then just crossing by... More

I had been to many islands in Thailand like James Bond Island, Phi Phi Island, Carol Island, Bamboo Island and many more but the most beautiful is Similan Island and it is the farest of them all. It took me 3-4 hours ride on speedboat to this island from Phuket from one of its port. The water there is so... More
