Stayed here for a couple of days. It's definitely one of the most picturesque places on Koh Tao and there's not so much tourist here. If you are not staying in the Haadtien Beach or Club resorts be ready to face staff trying to get a 100 BHT from you for staying at the beach. Snorkling is good but you... More

This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Tao! The beach is covered with these extraordinary trees with hunderets of butteflies (very beautiful!). It is perfect for snorkeling...we even saw a few reef sharks. You rented a motorbike?-> You have got to come here!

Ao Thian Ok, or Sharks Bay is a beautiful stretch of soft bright-white sandy beach, with stunning contrasting turquoise waters. It is flanked by the Haadtien Beach Resort, which is probably one of the most contemporary and luxury resorts on the island. We visited the beach on numerous occasions by various means; kayaking from our resort at Saideng, a longtail... More

The bottom near the shore is filled with dead corals and rocks. Coupled with strong waves, it didn't make for a good experience. My feet was badly cut and bleeding from trying to swim out, and I didn't dare to go too far in case I get tired and the waves decide to feed me to the rocks along the... More

thian og bay... also named shark bay... is a beautiful place to spend a relaxed and chilled day on the beach. there are enough shadowzones and the fine sandy beach falls gently to the sea. so thian og is nice for families with small children. at both ends there are beautiful rocks and it makes fun to snorkel there. the... This is a beautiful beach and if you swim out far there is many great things to see. We spotted a turtle and two reef sharks. Apparently it is only really good during high tide though, but we were there at that point, so stunning place.

The bay is shallow so you really have to snorkel out for the water to be really clear - but then it is very nice and I saw one green back turtle and one black tip reef shark and some angry trigger fish :-) what a fun day

The title says it all. Lukewarm water, not refreshing but surely stunning to look at. Not sure what has caused the muddy and not sandy bottom, but it can't be good.

you can easily get a taxi for going but coming back can be a problem and you will have to pay a lot more ,so its a rip off . The beach is very good but snorkelling not good compared to Mango Bay, Tanote, Hin Wong

It's private so you either can get to it through a private resort (literally right through - bit tricky) or go down a path through the resort and then walk through the water or swim to the beach. The resort staff didn't want us to go through there when we arrived so we had to take the path/swim route, but... More
