Jansom Bay is a beautiful white sand beach. One of the best on the island of Koh Tao. The beach is only 10 minutes walk from Mae Haad, the main port town, on the south-west side of Koh Tao. It's good for kids because there is no currents and the water is clear and quite shallow. It's a privately owned beach so a small entrance fee will be charged.

Free for guests of Charm Churee or Koh Tao Bamboo Huts. We went snorkeling here about 7am and saw tons of coral and sea life, including squid and blue-spotted stingrays. Yuri the dive instructor swears there's turtles there every morning as well, though we didn't see one. Go early and you'll be the only ones there... go in the afternoon... More

Long walk, but worth it if you stay and enjoy it for a while. The water is less rough then by the Elvis bar

This private beach was totally worth the $200 baht. It is owned by one of the hotels and the staff were welcoming and their facilities were clean and nearby. We stayed on the beach for the whole day, getting drinks from the bar, and were also able to jump on the wifi to some travel planning. The beach was recommended... More

Snorkel right from the beach, no need to take a boat. Saw some amazing fish there! Great place to chill, never too crowded, great drinks from the Elvis restaurant served right to your sunbed (go for Pina Colada served in a coconut.) There is a small fee (200bhat) if you are not staying at the resort.

The bay is easily accessible only for hotel guests, outsiders have to pay. This will offer you a lot of quiet time. This is a dream in the tropical forest. Also the bay is ideal for snorkeling because of its clear water and even the sunset can be seen from the rocks. Perfect for swimming and relaxing the beach is... More
