Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

No chicken left on the menu, should have left then but went ahead with the full rack of pork ribs. No BBQ involved, rather steam cooked. Two side dishes of potato salad and coleslaw not worth mentioning. All totally tasteless. Expensive. Avoid !

We decided to take a day trip here for snorkelling. We entered through the hotel paying 100 baht. Staff were lovely. Beach is very narrow but we managed to find shade below a tree.

Snorkelling ok here but far better at Tanote Bay. Here you have to swim out quite a way to see fish, whereas at Tanote Bay there are countless beautiful fish of all varieties just feet from the shore.

Water also quite cloudy at Shark Bay initially but at Tanote very clear.

Didn’t see any sharks or turtles but we may have visited at the wrong time of day.

Staff very happy to help us get a taxi back to our hotel.

No real coral, it's all broken from storms, however if you swim out to where the boats are there are the biggest turtles we've ever seen in 30 years of diving

We were able to get lucky and swim out and see some massive turtles. There are also boats that will take you out to where they know turtles are for 100 b each. Go at 4-5 for best chance since they are feeding

The place to go to see turtles!!!! So so nice and beautiful, some shady areas also. Lots of steps to get down but no entry fee. Really good.

We went on a boat trip and stopped here to snorkel. It was fantastic the water was warm a bit off a double edged sword as the coral does bleach but still an amazing amount and variety off fish to see including the shark ...

What a beautiful beach. As natural as they come. Beautiful white sand backed by shady trees and beach bushes. Turquoise water that has to be the warmest sea water in the world!
Sharks (friendly) and turtles and every colour fish to snorkel with.
No sunbeds or parasols or anything .....as nature intended.
We've been to the Caribbean etc but this is one of my favourite places.

If you ask me this is the second most pretty beach of thailand. The sand is really soft, the water super blue, and there are sharks ofcourse. :)

We walked over to Sharks Bay from Freedom Beach Resort. The walk incurred many steep hills and steps. Paid 50bht to enter, where it is a steep drop down more steps to the seafront (no beach) it was too rough to swim/snorkel, so wasted our time coming here. I'd suggest getting to this area by organised boat tour or long tail boat as the walk is horrendous

Visited as a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 children 15, 12 and 11. We had to pay 100 baht each to get it. It cost us 400 baht each way to get there from Sairee and in my opinion it was not worth it. It was too shallow to swim over the dead coral and visibility was quite poor. We saw some pretty fish but it didn't have the wow factor. If you want to visit shark bay to see turtles and sharks do so on a boat trip thay will take you behind the reef so you don't have to try to swim over the coral. We did a boat trip the following day here and saw both turtles and black tip sharks.
