stunning temple

On our trip to Chang Mai, we did a temple tour. We enjoyed Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao, all the temples were beautiful and very clean. We took many beautiful pictures.

This temple gets much accolade as once a resting place for the Emerald Buddha. Put aside this claim to game and it is at best an average temple for Lampang and Thailand generally. As others say it has a huge and magnificent gold topped chedi and a lovely Burmese style pagoda but really that's about it. There's a small viharn... More

We were there Many times. Especially when there is a full Moon we went to pray and join the ceremony by walking three rounds around the Pagoda. We can see a beautiful golden Pagoda under the Moon.

This temple is the former resting place of the famous Emerald Buddha - now housed at the Grand Palace in Bangkok - and still holds centuries of history within its walls.

This Temple is very large, with beautiful gardens and many lovely buildings and statues. We visited on a rainy day, but still enjoyed wandering the grounds. As with most Temples in Lampang, the history is amazing. Worth a visit in any weather!

The Emerald Buddha once resided here for 32 years in the 15th century. It arrived from Chiang Rai on the back of an elephant. There is a causeway at the entrance to the Wat, which leads up to the huge 50 metre high chedi. The chedi is the only surviving structure of the 7th century Wat. Well worth a visit.
