We went on a day trip by speed boat here and visited a few beaches. We snorkeled, went for swims and overall had a great day. One of the highlights of our trip to khao lak.

Whilst staying in Phuket felt we had to visit 'the Islands' as everyone does. The beaches here are fabulous on the West and South sides of the Island. Getting busier as we approach the peak season. The motivation was to see a few islands, less crowded , have a snorkle and just enjoy a pleasant day out. We booked a... More

We chose to do a day trip to the Similan Islands through a company called sea star. It was amazing! A mini van picked us up from our hotel to their base where many people were waiting. Don't let this put you off as everyone is divided into groups who you will tour with. We had about 40 in our... More

From Phuket was a long journey to get there - around 3 hours, and we have been told it`s not a popular spot. It was packed with tourists but it is a great snorkeling spot with plenty of marine life to see, crystal clear azure water, small white sandy beaches, paradise-like views. There is an option to stay overnight on... More

Firstly the Islands themselves. Definately beautiful to snorkel and swim. Trip if stay in North side of Phuket is 40 to 50 min to pier. If staying down at Patong beaches it can take 1 1/2 to 2 hrs drive and thats before 1hr 20 min speedboat out there. Like many islands off thailand there are so many tour operators... More

First off all don't pay 3700THB you can get the price down at the street travel agents. We heard of people paying as little as 2000THB from Khao Lak.The islands are very nice but the crowds spoil the experience.Like all tours in Thailand it is very busy, but you will still have a go day to remember. Our resort only suggested two... I went on a day trip to the Similan Islands from Patong. I had an early start (06:30) and was driven north to the pier. 1hr 30min by boat we arrived. What a beautiful place! I have never seen/been on nicer sand, the water was bright blue and warm which made for incredible snorkelling! Would highly recommend!

The touring gave the island too much damage. it was one of my most beautiful island on similan islands group. Tachai has the Longest beach among those in the same group of island. The sand is as soft as you forget your furred carpet at home.
