With the water in the front this functioning mosque was very picturesque. The water was a little green but the whole place was worthy of many photos.

This mosque in front of the ark citadel is quite different than your usual one. It has a pool in front and a striking wooden supporting columns very ornate. Inside it is a bit more ordinary but overall absolutely worth the visit

The mosque has wooden beams on the outside and a fairly moden inside. The most interesting is the reflection of the mosque in the water located in front.

Bolo Khauz Mosque's entry way is a superb example of the wood carving prowess for its pillars and the amazing ceiling painting skills of Bukharan craftsmen. The interior is truly heavenly: it is more simply but strikingly decorated and so serene that most of the...More

Across from the Ark Fortress is the Moschea Bolo-Khauz or Friday Mosque, which is another unique building in the city of Bukhara. The wooden pillars are a lovely touch and stand out in a world of mud-clay pillars and mosaics (which are beautiful too) but...More
