If you have a travel guide, you will hear a story behind this. Otherwise I would recommend you find out its historical background. It's a quick tour, part of the history of Bukhara.

Interesting place to see if you have read much about the Great Game. I recommend reading Peter Hopkirk's "The Great Game" for a good overview of this bit of history. Conolly, one of the officers who died in this prison, coined the term Great Game.

Interesting place if you have read a bit about the Great Game and the history of the khanate of Bukhara. Two central characters were thrown in jail here and the executed. Some interesting exhibits.

In the past, one of the least desired places to visit, but now it is one of the interesting places to visit in Bukhara.
