Pulau Kaja is the optional trip to see orang utans,
July, August and September is the high sesaon for tourists coming to Kalimantan to see orang utan, wild life and the beautity of nature in Kalimantan. Tanjung Puting is most known destination to see otang utans. Boats mostly fully booked.
Pulau Kaja is the optional destination to see the orang Utan.
Flight to Palangkaraya ( try to get morning flight ).
Day 01 Arrival at Palangkaraya airport,then transfer by car for about an hour to Tengkiling where you get the motor boat to go around Kaja Island,
After boat trip return to Palangkaraya, over nght at Hotel.
Day 02 and 03 Sebangau National Park
Enjoy the beauty of Pandan Forest, BLack River.
Day 03 - day 04 Driver to Kapuas, stay at Hotel Kota Sungai the hotel at river view, visit Rumah Betang ( Dayak House ).
Day 04 Kapuas Banjarmasin,
Day 05. Banjarmasin floating market and canal river tip
Day 06. Departure for your next destination

it was probably the best way to see and observe those wonderful creatures. we were not allowed to walk on the island but we could see themm from our boat at few meters distance snd we saw many of them, I think 8/9

"Why i dont know in Palangka Raya i can see too orang utan?"
That what my guest say to me when they're said about their experiance in Kaja Island.
Yes, not only in Tanjung Puting you can see orang utan, In Palangka Raya too, and by easy way, just 30 minute from Palanka Raya, and goto Sei Gohong, rent a boat about 250k.
But for you know, this area should be not for tourist area. Orang utan in this area in program by BOSF/Borneo orang utan foundation, for introduction orang utan for rehabilition area, like school for orang utan. For know more about BOSF you can goto Arboretum tumbang tahai, 15 minute for Sei Gohong, open for public just Saturday dan Sunday.
Another island near Kaja island is Bangamat Island (in dayak ngaju meaning of bangamat: big Bat). You can smim to in black river at danau tahai {not same with tumbang tahai/arboretum/nyaru menteng}, just only ask captain for go this area, can be litle trekking too.
