Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My job is freelance guide, this place is my starting point before invite my guest start to see orang utan or go to long house or other.
I confuse how come people like local people (indonesian) not many interest with this place.

All my foreigner guest they're so very interesting, if someone or guide at museum can tell the history is nice
But without guide, you can read a complete story at notice from picture.

First flour, start from left. We can start about history of central borneo, and many thing. And dayaknesse living from birthing, merried (before married dayaknese had two process, normally engade and merried, for dayaknese they're had "hakumbang auh", before maja misek/engade)
and ritual for cementery, tiwah) you will see many statue that call sapundu

at 2nd flour we will saw how dayaknesse their long house, canoe, floating house, any sword, mandau, blowpipe, and magic equipment to trap fish the name is MIHING :D

I thankfull for goverment made this place nice. So I easy explaining what central borneo and dayaknese in global history. I visit this museum every time I visit palangkaraya. It is beautifully Laid out. I would highly recommend it if you want to know stuff about Dayak Culture. Not your typical dusty Indonesian mueum - so not miss it.

Its looks like not good maintenance. I think, important to keep a historical goods and equipment as a part of human custom.
I have to come back someday and meet with something better...

The museum is well maintained and offers plenty of insights into the Dayak culture. 2 hours should be more than enough to go through the collection.

The museum was quite nicely arranged and very informative. It could have incorporated more of the various peoples of dayak instead of only one kind (Dayak Ngaju).

During the 5 Day Dayak festival in Palangkaraya I had the opportunity to visit this museum on the grounds where the festival events were being held. It is a remarkable history and lifestyle of the Dayak people.

The museum is well laid out with full size photo backdrops to help enhance the different exhibits. This is worth the look see if you come here.

I visited this museum many times. I don't know why, I just like it. Even though this museum needs more improvement in the future such as public utilities, display design, interior design, and also the staffs, I still can say this is a good place to visit. There are a lot of history about Dayak people in Central Kalimantan. The sculptures, clothes, cultures, and arts. Good place as well to educate young generation about Dayak history. This location is easy to reach by using public transport. There is admission fee to get inside the museum, but it is so cheap. So no worries... You can afford it.

Worth a visit and in fact go here first, before you go anywhere. If you are keen on learning more about Dayak culture and Central Kalimantan then this museum is worth a visit. I had a guided tour from a volunteer Australian lady who explained many things in great detail incluing The Tree of Life and many objects associated with spiritual meaning, magic, history and symbolism . The second floor has housing and includeds a floating house. The size is perfect - its small but everything is nicely displayed - and good information about Tiwa's (Funeral Ceremonies).
