Quieter and less popular than the Orang rehab next door but well worth a visit
Apr 2020
We were incredibly happy we visited this place. There is so much you don't know about these bears and we were shocked to find one chilling out at the top of a tree!! The centre is much less popular but equally as great an experience and the centre is just as conscious of the animals well being and informative as the Orang sanctuary. We sponsored a bear from here but if you're not up to sponsoring a bear, there are a number of ways you can support the centre which is vital for these guys as they are often outshone by their primate pals next door.

Excellent place to discover the sun bears
Jan 2020
The conservatory is a nice place to learn and observe the sun bears. It is easily accessible and offers several views to the area where the bears live.

The founder seems very passionate about the place and we were able to talk with him in the park. Also the guides are very knowledgeable about the bears and it was a real pleasure to listen to their stories.

A great experience we had
Mar 2020
Thoroughly enjoyed our few hours here and we were luckily enough to see the sunbear climb a tree and build its nest for an afternoon nap! This was all about 20 metres from the viewing platform. An excellent experience.
A relaxing time, but don't think this is a zoo and easy to see the bears, it can be difficult but just take time and enjoy.

Zoo with bears
May 2019 • Friends
Is this really the only way to protect the wildlife in Asia? If yes, then urgent actions are requiered. For me it was worse than a zoo. The animals should be in the jungle. Protect the jungles instead.

Great place to visit
Mar 2020 • Couples
The sun bear sanctuary is very good.
They had 13 bears at the time of our visit.
Due to the heat they were quite hard to see but eventually we saw 8/13 and they really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Well worth a visit.

Worth it
Mar 2020
The sun bears are conveniently situated 2 min walk from the Orangutans. The staff were friendly & answered any questions we had. Unfortunately we only saw 3 bears & that was through the bushes & for 2 min as they walked past. That said it is a nature reserve, the animals are free to roam & not closed in like in a Zoo which is far better. I would definitely recommend it.

Not our day
Mar 2020
Having spent a brilliant day at the adjoining Orangutan sanctuary, visited the sun bears with high hopes. Unfortunately, our luck wasn't in that day. We saw 1 bear, at a distance, which was asleep with no chance of any movement. Appreciate the work these sanctuaries are doing and realise that each visit is in the lap of the gods

It’s a good sanctuary
Feb 2020 • Couples
You may not see the sun bear as much as you expected, it’s a quite spacious area but then you’ll have difficulties to find the sun bears walking around. There’s pictures of sun bears and history how they end up at the sanctuary. But you will probably only seen them between 2 to 4, however it is for the good causes.
