We loved our trip to Mulu National Park - completely worth the extra plane trip up to the park. We loved the menu of walks and tours that you could sign up to go on - we managed to fit about 5 into a 2-night trip! The raised boardwalks throughout the park were a bit slippery in the rain, but... Borneo is best enjoyed when you are away from the cities and immersed in its wildlife. Mulu National Park provided every opportunity for this. The caves are spectacular - especially the Deer and Clearwater - and there is a myriad of other trails and activities to explore. We also walked the canopy and trekked to the nearby and wonderfully secluded... More

Went in Jan with a friend and just booked 2 weeks prior to the trip itself. Was slightly apprehensive as it's not the typical trip I usually go on, but boy was I blown away. There is no reception, and Wifi is sold by the park for RM5/day/device. We didn't purchase it, and did not see the need to either.... More

The park was even better than we'd hoped. First off, the main parts are incredibly well maintained. When you come in over the rope bridge there are a number of low key buildings in amongst the jungle - first stop is the modern office where you get your 5 day pass (wrist strap) and book or pay for your tours.... It's definitely home. First time though, it's totally a different experience. I remember when the plane landed on the strip of Mulu Airport, feeling purely excited for adventure. Paid RM5 to be transported from airport to the Mulu NP, thinking it'll be a 10-15mins ride but no, it's just 1.5km away. Crossed the river using a hanging bridge and got... More

Don't hesitate to go there. It is a unique place to see nature. Very professional approach of the rangers as well. Accessible for elderly people but also people with very young children.

A fantastic place to visit. We stayed in a homestay next to the Marriot Hotel, the accommodation was comfy and the breakfast was very good. Staying at the homestay allowed us to use local people for the tours so not lining the pockets of already rich people or hotels. The travel around the area was comfortable by jeep, boat and... More

One of the places in Borneo that's worth exploring. I took the tours to the Mulu Summit, the Pinnacles, Racer cave and other show caves. I couldn't reach the summit successfully because of bad itinerary and bad weather. But the view from Pinnacles was amazing. The climb was really not as hard as the others claimed. The hardest part was... More
