MUSTAPHA CAMP MERZOUGA is the best experience you can have in Erg Chebbi!!! I found this out on facebook, I sent a message and in a blink of an eye I got all set up! I was interested in 1day experience with trekking and camels fro 2 people. We spent 35 € each all inclusive and we had the best experience with a small group. Everything was perfect: the boys who guided us (we were 6 pax), the camp, the food, the desert, at sunset and the sunrise..Don't miss out and book with Moustapha! :D

So great the hospitality, so marvellous the landscapes, so friendly the people in Merzouga! It was incredibly nice to have a tour in the desert with a superb guide Mustapha! Of course, I've never seen him before but after only few minutes it was like I knew him for years! Good to meet the person you can trust and rely on when you are 4000 km far from home!
Thanks Mustapha!

We booked a camel treck and night at the desert with booking. The original cost for 4 people (2 double rooms, dinner and breakfast included) was 44€, so 11€ per person. After the booking we got a weird message by the owner, Youssef, who told us it was now 70€ per person. We didn't know for sure what he meant so we asked him many times and he never replied. We went to the meeting point and decided to agree as "many other things were included, such as the lunch and we didn't have time to book anything else".
Once we got there, he gave us a way uglier tent than what we were supposed to get. Not 2 double rooms, but one room for 10 peopoe, so we were sharing now. Once we asked around the camp, we found out that Youssef had told the same to everybody, so he was getting 7 times more money per guest. We decided to enjoy our time there taking pics and relaxing. The tents weren't warm at all, we had to sleep on our clothes and toilets were really disgusting. They tried to charge us the lunch (which was going to be given to us for free as promised by Youssef). They couldn't manage the situation, as when people started to see they paid more for a worse tent (which even weren't the ones in the booking photos) they started leaving the camp. Next morning it looked like we weren't going to get oir breakfast any time before 10:00 so we decided to walk back to the meeting point and leave in our car. The people from the meeting point were really rude to us just because they didn't want to give us the breakfast we paid for. Please don't book this service

We so much enjoyed the sunset ride and a special desert dinner afterwards. The personnel made sure that we were safe and they handled the camels well. The sand dunes are breathtaking. So glad we did it.

We booked the one night in the desert trip for my husband, myself and our adult daughter. Everything was as we expected and better. The camp was great, dinner and breakfast was tasty and overall webthoroughly enjoyed our trip out to the desert . There is running hot water, electric and wifi which was an unexpected bonus! Mustapha was easy to deal with and very clear about prices and offerings . Would highly recommend .

Day on the desert was the best day of my trip to Morocco. My friend found the best camp ever. Mustapha is the friendliest person I've ever met. The night with bonfire and local music and dance was amazing and magical. Camp is clean and really nice, but remember that it is desert so don't expect luxury, but tents are big and comfy. Prepare for low temperature during night.

Our group was traveling over the Morocco and few of our members really wanted to see camels and the desert. I was not sure, before the trip, how is the situation in Morocco and how these types of trips are working, so I decided to book before the trip.

I was dealing whole time with Mustapha. He was very proactive and quite talkative. I liked it, so I made a deal with him. When we reached the destination I found out that Mustapha will not join us. It did not influence the paid experience, but it was not what I was expecting. I was actually really excited to meet Mustapha. Nevertheless, Muhammad, the camel guy, was talking with us and even took some awesome photos.

Also I'd like to mention that the dinner was very tasty and the Tajine(food) was really awesome. The most shocking thing for me was that there were actually european toilets with working flushing(desert? :D) and shower. That made my day for sure to speak the truth.

Little note:
When we reached the destination I found out that there i actually a lot of possibilities even without reservation. So, if you are not sure, you can risk it freely.

We booked a camel trip with this company and it was definitely worth the trip to Merzouga. Mustafa met us at the bus and took us to the Hotel Roche for the night. The next day we had a long camel trip through the dunes to an oasis where we spent several hours. We were first provided with a lovely Moroccan lunch and then lay on soft mats in the shade with the Sahara "air conditioning" soothing us, great for napping. Then we were back on the camels for another trip through the dunes to the Berber tent camp. The tent was very comfortable, and private, and there is good toilet facilities. We ate at small tables in the open air surrounded by the tents. The tagine and fruit were truly moroccan and nicely prepared. We spent a lovely evening sitting on the top of the dunes, looking at the stars, talking and laughing at Mustafas jokes. Mustafa grew up in a nomadic family, and is interesting as well as fun to be with. He also was interested in learning about our home country. We spent the next morning riding back to Merzuga on the camels, then after a shower at Mustafas home we spent several hours touring the Sahara with Mustafa in his 4x4 visiting various interesting points. This felt like the authentic tour we had hoped for and Mustafa is a very kind, caring and fun person to spend time with.
