We took this route to get to Ouarzazate from Marrakesh on our way to the desert in Merzouga. Very slow going , especially more so due to the construction going on building new sections of this road.We probably averaged 25 or 30 MPH. But it...More

Tizi n'Tichka pass is on the main highway N9 running southeast from Marrakesh to Ouarzazate. The road winds up tight hairpin turns and steep grades to this pass through the High Atlas mountains. The foothills are green with forests and orchards, but the mountain tops...More

This is a picturesque mountain pass through the High Atlas. It's slow going and twisty and windy, but you pass a lot of snow caps and small Berber villages. It is eye-opening for those who think Morocco is all deserts. Plan accordingly because it does...More

We enjoyed this scenic drive from Ouarzazate to Marrakech. We started our journey in the desert, passing many Kasbah along the way followed by winding roads thru the Atlas Mountains. Tizi n Tichka is the highest point along the road. We stopped at a restaurant...More

New road works are going to change this experience travelling from Ouarzazate to Marrakech for ever, sadly. The slow winding road allowed travellers to gain a real appreciation of the changing landscape that one was travelling through. The fertile valley contrasts markedly with the aridity...More

We went past Tizi n Tichka, the pass through the Atlas Mountains from Marrakech near Ouarzazate. The view is better in several places on either side of the pass. There are a couple businesses to stop at while there.

Main road is wide enough. On the south side there an alternate road (P1506) that is pretty scenic but impressive if you are scared of heights. It goes through Ait Benhaddou that I highly recommend though. Make sure you make... More

Dia duit, Les 2 sites sont incontournables et sont parfaitement faisables dans la même journée. A Ait Benhaddou il y a quelques restaurants typiques qui sont très bien. Have a good trip !
