We recently returned from a family vacation experience in Morocco with Travel Exploration Morocco. Our tour was expertly crafted by Alecia, who took into account our wish for a trip that included a combination of culture, history and adventure. She worked within our budget to give us top notch accommodations that were well located and provided the Moroccan flavour that we were hoping for. Our driver and host to Morocco, Yassine, was outstanding. He greeted us with open arms as we met him at the airport and as we got to know each other better, he could anticipate and suggest restaurants, additional stops and sights that we might enjoy. Yassine, took care of us so that our tour ran smoothly from start to finish. He was even able to make adjustments so that we could squeeze in a visit to the Atlas Studios which we had not included in our original itinerary.
There were so many highlights on this trip that is difficult to mention them all. Alecia gets high marks for suggesting that we add quad riding in the Erg Chebbi dunes to our itinerary. I knew that my boys would love it but wasn’t sure about myself. As it turned out all 5 of us ranked this as a fabulous, once in a lifetime experience. We didn’t think that anything could top the exhilaration we felt after riding camels through the Sahara Desert to our luxury encampment, experiencing a beautiful sunset followed by a lovely dinner, campfire with traditional music and then waking early to see the sunrise over the dunes, but quad riding topped off our perfect stay in the desert. It is a long drive to and from the Sahara but well worth it.
Our tour included special attention to Jewish heritage sites. It was interesting to learn how the Jewish religion was intertwined in Moroccan culture. We visited the home of a traditional Berber family and shared a meal with them. I was even treated to a henna tattoo during our visit. The trip had the perfect balance of culture, history and adventure that we were seeking when we began planning our trip with Alecia. Yassine was a perfect host and we had some exceptional guides throughout. We especially enjoyed our food tour in Fez with Housem, our hike in the Dades Valley with Mohammed, who later toured us through the village for a glimpse of life for its inhabitants and our tour through Essaouira with Ahmad. Of course, we have a special shout out for Yassine who gave us a fabulous guided tour of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, one of our favourite stops.
Morocco is more than the major cities of Fez, Marrakech and Casablanca. I highly recommend planning a fully immersive trip, visiting cities, towns and villages, mountains, desert and seaside to fully appreciate this beautiful country and absorb the culture.
Our 12 day trip was perfect and left us with so many fond memories. Planning with Travel Exploration Morocco was the best decision that we made.

This past December we organized a private tour of Morocco with one other couple with Alecia Cohen from Travel Exploration. The trip was amazing. It was a pleasure to work with Alecia who made any adjustments to the itinerary that we asked for but set up a very inclusive itinerary to start with. Our driver Hossaine was great. He spoke English fluently and was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Morocco which he shared with us at every opportunity. He also made some extra unplanned stops as opportunity arose for us to gain even more exciting experiences. Most of our local guides were excellent. The Ryads we stayed in were unique and lovely and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were many highlights on this trip but to pick one it is the time spent in the Sahara desert. Both the camel ride and the ATV rides were incredible and the luxury camp we spent the night in was amazing.
I highly recommend a visit to this very interesting and friendly country and when you do so I strongly suggest booking with Alecia Cohen at Travel Exploration.

My wife and I along with our baby and another couple toured Morocco in February before the Coronavirus pandemic. Alecia Cohen and her team could not have been more professional and accommodating. We had a long list of places we wanted to see. Going off the beaten path to visit Berber villages was top on the list. We chose the company's Majestic Morocco two-week tour since it included both the Imperial Cities and the coast of Essaouira. Our interests in history, Jewish Héritage and learning more about Moroccan cuisine were delightfully met. We absolutely loved the food tour arranged for us in Fes and also the cooking class with a Dada Chef. Alecia went above and beyond our expectations
She even arranged for childcare and had a couple of the properties we stayed at make home made baby food for our son. Nothing we asked was too much.
The guides and accommodations were exceptional. Our driver Ismail was a gem who we already miss. Our friends are architects and were blown away by the Riad architecture. Having traveled the world we were dually impressed with Morocco. We would like to return in the future and definitely plan to use Travel Exploration again.

Howard, We are thrilled to learn that you enjoyed your trip to Morocco. You visited Morocco just in time prior to the border closure in late March 2020 as the result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Thank you for choosing our Majestic Morocco Tour. It's one of our most well liked given it offers two full weeks of Imperial City discovery aand Sahara Desert bliss. Your driver Ismail was appreciative to host you. We hope to greet you in the future!

I arranged a private tour of Casablanca for a group of 11 adults prior to a 7 day Morocco tour with a global tour company. How we all wished we had booked our entire trip with Alicia!

First of all our guide, Najat, was absolutely the best. We all felt like family at the end of our tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and took us to so many interesting places. We also asked her for recommendations on our two lunches and the restaurants were fantastic. The time with her flew by and we were sad to see her go.

Unfortunately, I don’t remember our drivers’ names (a different one each day), but they were both friendly and courteous.

Our group felt like we received great value for the price we paid and would recommend Alicia and her team to anyone looking for a great experience in Morocco.

My wife and I recently returned from a 15 day tour throughout Morocco which was designed by Alecia Cohen and Travel Exploration Morocco. Alecia took the time to get to know the requirements and preferences of my wife and I and created a very organized and balanced itinerary that was exactly what we were looking for. We had an amazing trip getting to experience Morocco's imperial cities, the desert, the mountains, the friendly people and breathtaking scenery and finishing up in Essaioura where we loved exploring the beautiful Atlantic coast. Our driver Mustapha was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, compassionate and always looking out for our safety and comfort. The accommodations Alicea recommended were all top notch and our local guides were consistently excellent. We also were fascinated to learn about the incredible amount of Jewish history that is such an important part of Moroccan history. I would highly recommend Alicea Cohen and Travel Exploration Morocco for anyone interested in experiencing the diverse and fascinating country of Morocco.

We recently returned from a wonderful Moroccan adventure with Travel Exploration. Our two-week trip included Marrakech, villages in the High Atlas Mountains, Kazbah Telouet, Ait Benhaddou, Skoura, Ait Ouzzine, Erfoud, Merzouga, the Sahara Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen, and Rabat. All arrangements, including hotels, restaurants, guides, tours and reservations were very well organised as per our wishes and Alecia’s excellent recommendations. It was our driver, Brahim, however, that helped to make the trip truly special! He was not only an excellent, safe and reliable driver, but also a personable and considerate companion throughout our journey. He was eager to share his knowledge of the local village markets including the areas known for their sweet oranges and golden dates. Brahim continually extended himself providing support, and valuable assistance whenever we had any needs or queries. A highlight of our trip was sharing a delicious lunch of lamb and couscous with Brahim’s family. Even though we could not speak Berber and many of the family members could not speak English, the warmth of their welcome as well as their generous and kind hospitality made us feel like part of the family. For our next trip to Morocco we will be sure to use Travel Exploration!

Our family visited Morocco this past December. We researched several tour companies before deciding to book with Travel Exploration. I was impressed with the high level of communication and in-country organization that the owner, Alecia Cohen has. Working with a tour company based in Morocco was advantageous. Alecia apparently, has spent years developing
a solid team of drivers and guides. Our trip would not have been the same without our driver Sabir. His enthusiasm, patience and knowledge of Berber culture was immense.
Alecia chose a high level of interesting riads and guests houses for us. All had 6 star architecture with a nice mix of amenities that were suitable for our family of five. We particularly liked our accommodations in the Skoura palmeraie, Marrakech and the luxury camp in the desert. We chose upgraded rooms with views when possible. The guides we toured with in Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fes, and Marrakech were excellent. All were knowledgable and spoke fluent English. They were also patient with our three young adult children, answering a wide range of questions. We were pleasantly surprised to be led by both male and female guides.
My wife is a professor of Feminist Studies and found it particularly fascinating to converse with the well educated, female guides who offered an insiders perspective about a Moroccan women’s role in society. We value educational experiences highly and are grateful to have experienced both a craft making workshop on leather book binding and a calligraphy workshop during our trip. Our family also participated in a five-course full day cooking class and a foodie tour where we tasted various delicacies and saw the sites of the souk come alive after dark. The desert experience was reminiscent of a movie. Men in turbans, adorned in blue robes, bread baking on open fire and African drumming, all after midnight. December is cold in the Sahara, make sure to bring warm clothing if you visit this time of year. I could not think of a better way to spend our family holiday. We are thrilled we made it to Morocco.
Thank you Travel Exploration for such putting together such a truly educational and amazing family adventure!

My family and I just returned from an indescribable 10-day adventure to Morocco, planned impeccably by Alecia. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by our driver, Bouabid Abdujalil (“Bobby”), we were whisked away to one amazing experience after another. Bobby made us feel so connected to the country and navigated our experience without a hitch. Each guide, picked by Alecia, was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and interesting. My 2 teenagers, my husband and I were captivated by the sights of the beautiful cities, desert, and mountains. We were amazed by the living history and the changes in climate and topography of the country, but mostly we were deeply touched by the generosity, graciousness, and kindness we experienced of the Moroccan people. From our amazing driver, with whom we forged an unforgettable bond, to the guides, hotel workers, Berber families who opened their homes to us, and even regular folks in the cities and towns, the people of Morocco are the most lovely and welcoming. I don’t have enough room to explain our experiences riding camels deep into the Sahara and staying at a luxurious camp to navigating the mysterious Souks and medinas, to hiking in the Atlas Mountains to a hidden waterfall, Alecia’s trip was truly perfectly designed and amazingly executed. I highly recommend her!

As an experienced traveler throughout the world, as I was doing research in planning my trip to Morocco, I had the good fortune to have the recommendation from a friend who previously traveled with his family by working with Alecia Cohen and Travel Exploration to also consider working with Alecia. It was an excellent recommendation and I highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Morocco to work with Alecia. In planning my trip, I communicated my interests to Alecia which included visiting and learning about the history, culture, architecture, art, politics, economy, etc. This included a particular interest I have in both Jewish and secular history. Not only did Alecia take into consideration all of my interests, but she also was able to make specific recommendations and suggestions based on her extensive knowledge of Morocco and all aspects of what I was interested in seeing and doing. Thus, she was able to customize an itinerary designed to meet my expectations. I am pleased to say that it not only met my expectations but exceeded them.

I had the pleasure of traveling to Casablanca, Rabat, Volubilis, Meknes, Fes, Marrakech and Essaouria. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the knowledgeable and communicative guides selected by Alecia for each location. My driver throughout the trip, Hossaine, was equally superb as we had the opportunity to communicate about all of these topics as well as others throughout all of our interactions. Based on his suggestions, we were also able to add some impromptu visits to additional sites and activities that emerged only because of his and Alecia's familiarity with the country and ability to quickly discern specific interests I had.

I particularly appreciated the high level of responsiveness and outstanding communication skills of Alecia through the plethora of email exchanges and iterations of the itinerary I considered and ultimately selected when planning the trip. This level of communication even extended during the trip as I had the opportunity to both speak to and meet Alecia. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Her ability to recommend unique Riads where I stayed and "inside" knowledge relative to restaurants and specific sites and activities were additional attributes associated with the services she offers.

Finally, since I returned from my trip this month during a particularly volatile time in parts of the world, despite the apprehension of some who may not be inclined to travel to Morocco at this juncture, while there, I never experienced or observed any concerns regarding safety and security. Although I had a very comprehensive and thorough sightseeing tour as I had hoped, there are still a few places I did not get to experience in the Desert, South, Tangiers simply because it's impossible to see everything in 11 days, but hopefully at some point, I'll be able to also include those locations and Travel Exploration would be my first choice to assist in that planning as well. Alecia Cohen, Travel Exploration and her team enjoy and deserve the excellent reputation they have earned and I will be pleased to recommend them to friends and colleagues who may be considering a trip to Morocco.

Morocco – Fabulous Trip !
My wife and I traveled with two other close couples to Morocco this past May and the trip was nothing less than spectacular and it was because of the excellent travel planner Alecia Cohen from Morocco Travel Exploration. It was a 14-day cultural, culinary, and geographic-packed adventure that covered a significant part of the country, its history, people, and the diversity of the landscape that makes up Morocco. While our tour covered both Islamic and Jewish sites, the cities of Casablanca – don’t forget Ric’s Café -, Rabat – where we stayed at the gorgeous Villa Mandarine, a Riad of the first class as was all our hotels and Riads, The visits to the Mellahs of each city and the Kasbahs [ancient forts] blending with the modern parts of Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, and Marrakech served to underscore the developments and progress made with the current and recent past Kings. The luxury accommodations of the Sahara Desert of Chez Madu,in Merzouga was not like any tent any Bedouin has ever lived in. The L’MaLodge in Skoura, is a guest house of inspired beauty and simple elegance with fragrant gardens and animal life. But what made this trip really special were the people we met starting and ending with our driver and daily guide, Hossaine who was beyond the best driver [needed to be in the country] and would and could do anything we needed and sought to provide the best trip possible. The lunch with his family at their home was a highlight of the trip especially meeting his adorable nieces and nephews as well as his mother and aunts and uncles. The experience of a real Moroccan home, food and hospitality was an incredible experience and an eye into the life of a Moroccan family. The geographic diversity of the country surprised and disabused us of our expectations of Morocco, while there are desert areas, the presence of lush forest and valleys of green are there to contrast the sands and rock of the Sahara. The design and flow of this trip was excellent and the opportunity to sample and buy the quality goods of the country was reasonable and appreciated. To the success of this trip, we thank Alecia and Hossaine.
We highly recommend Alecia and her organization when we want to visit Morocco – a most wonderful country and people.
