The hostel booked a four day Santa Cruz hike for me. The agency was Galaxia Expeditions. The price was good/low. Overall I won't recommend it due to: 1) Food As lunch they give you a bag with: one bread, one fruit, one chocolate bar and some biscuits. Breakfast varies from bread, pancake and a kind of oat meal. Diner is... More

I won't lie, I was worried about using this agency, but we took a risk. It's important ti understand the huge difference in price between this agency and others. I paid around 300 soles for the Santa Cruz trek whereas with others it could be double or more. The equipment was solid, no leaks in the tent. Sleeping mats and... More

Gear: 4 stars Food: 1 star Guides: 2 stars Price: 1 star Pro tip: Negotiate the price. I found out on the trek from my group that I had overpaid the highest in the group at 400 soles or $120 USD. Most everyone else paid 310 soles. The gear: The tents were legit and kept the rain out. I had... More

We did the trek with our guide Eddi and his team. They were just amazing. Perfect food and a lot of fun! We really recommand that company and its team members. It really couldn't be better. Thank you very much for these perfect four days!

So we were interested in the Santa Cruz trek since we heard it is a 4 days trek which was exactly what we wanted. We were comparing many agencies because there were some aspects that were very important to us: ~The group aspect - we wanted to know how many people are going and what is the maximum so the... This was the second trek I had completed in Huaraz and this agency was just awful. It was mainly the conduct of the agency staff on the trek that made it such a disappointment. In the evenings the staff would drink a lot so much so you could smell it on them in the mornings. The guide continuously made inappropriate... More

We just done a wonderful trek in the Huayhuash cordillera orgabnized by Galaxia. After reading the last comments on this site, we were a bite afraid, but everything went fine. The guide (Lucas) and the arriero (Tito) were experienced, very well organized. Each night, we talked of the day after, the guide explaining us very well the difficulties and the... More

When we first visited Galaxia Expeditions, they provided us with all the information we needed on the trek and seemed to be pretty professional. We therefore booked the Santa Cruz trek with them - a 4 day hike. Before booking I mentioned I had severe allergies. When we officially booked, I emphasized on that point and made sure they were... Hi fellows, Santa cruz was a fantastic and beautiful experience. Unfortunately we were treated very poorly by galaxia. We had read that the equipment could be bad,so we went there ahead and chose the tent and sleeping bag. It actually didnt come as quite a surprise, but to disapointment, that none of the equipment was there. Instead of almost new stuff we... More

We did the Mateo Glacier expedition with a group of five people. The first impression wasn't good as the guides arrived 30 minutes late and didn't bring all the equipment they had promised. We had asked the agency for a nice and easy expedition for our last day in Huaraz as we had done the Santa Cruz Trek the days... More
