Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you go to Ica, the Huacachina desert oasis and village is a must to do, to visit this amazing lagoon in the middle of the desert and climb up the sand dunes. One can also ride dunes buggies or go sand boarding. It’s a fun visit, there are also restaurants and shops around the lagoon to just hang out for the day.

If you feel like it, a buggy with driver can be rented for around 100 soles on site for a thrilling ride among the dunes at sunset. A ritual here.. Through an agency, it’s around 40 soles with pick-up at your hotel. But you will not be alone (6 people per buggy) Otherwise on foot it is entirely doable. Great climbs at the end of which the setting sun has an undeniable charm. But it's harder to climb...

Lovely peaceful oasis in the middle of the small town of Huacachina. It was so nice to sit and have a drink at a bar overlooking the water. We also had a go on one of the pedalos which was fun! You can also relax on the small beach by the water, although you do have to pay 3.50 soles (which isn't expensive).

The little oasis of Huacachina is BEAUTIFUL! A day that I will never forget.
You can arrive on your own or on a tour, the most common thing is to arrive at sunset to get on the buggies and sandboarding :) Everything is quite organized, food and water sales.
Quite busy during the weekend but it is a GIANT desert!!
You MUST come here on your trip to Peru!!

We had an absolutely incredible time with Terra Quechua Peru on the Paracas + Ica + Huacahina tour, Good service, good organization, a patient and very knowledgeable guide.
The bus left early, and the first destination Paracas, a while longer and we arrived at the pier, we took a speed boat, we first went to see "the cactus" are lines made 2000 years ago the same Nazca lines, we continued with the tour and arrived to the Ballesta Islands, these islands are full of life, all kinds of birds, sea lions and the stellar penguins, then we headed to the Huacachina lagoon, an oasis located in the dunes where we got on the Boogies, the trip was charming. through the desert and we did sandboarding, the entire tour was very entertaining
It is important to carry water and Gatorade to hydrate yourself throughout the entire route and a good camera to capture moments of the desert

Our tour of Paracas Ica and Huacachina with Terra Quechua Peru exceeded all our expectations, first we visited the Ballestas Islands which is a delight for nature lovers. We saw seals, penguins and birds in their natural habitat. Then, the Huacachina Oasis surprised us with its surreal beauty. The buggy rides were thrilling and the sandboarding was a unique experience. The agency took care of everything with great professionalism, highly recommended!

This is a quick stop along the drive to Nazca lines. Try to get here around sunset 5 pm in winter. Climb the sandy dune to view the sunset, and the oasis. Then walk to the laguna and enjoy the reeds, boats, mermaid statue and walk around. Tons of vendors, restaurants. We had a driver along the way so he was in the car while we hung out. We got some souvenirs. Beautiful jewelry. It was a nice experience

I recommend it if you have time. Go a day early. Visit and walk all in complete tranquility. And then go to Tours which is faster. Because afterwards you are left wanting to go again. Or go on the tour and then go another day. Very good.

This lake can be found in the centre of Huacachina and is a definite must see if visiting Ica or Huacachina itself. The lake is beautiful and one can rent a boat or swim in its waters. The lake itself is lined with shops, restaurants, bars and cafes and is a very peaceful area in which to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink. The lake is right next to the desert's sand dunes in which there is lots to do nearby such as dune buggying and sandboarding.

Gente!

Saludos,
