An okey bodega

If you are looking for a winery to just taste wines, this is not for you. If you really want to know how wine and pisco is made this is for you. We started in the fields and went through every step. All my question were answered (I do not speak Spanish) our guide spoke excellent English. One of the... More

Vista Alegre is situated some km outside of Ica. It's a nice and cosy place. You pay s/. 5 for a short guided tour (definitively best in Spanish - English is so so) and you get to try white and red vine + Pisco. The tour should be longer, but the place has history and a nice view.

It is a rural but pittoresque vineyard (just outside Ica). They produce sweet & dry wine and pisco. You had to pay 5 soles per person, but you get decent tasting glasses after the tour. Our guide Jesus demonstrated a profound knowledge of wine making and explained everything in english for us. The tour is short, but you can ask... More

We arrived 10 minutes after the noon tour had started and the woman in the reception area curtly told us that we could not join the tour in progress that had barely started. I asked her if we could pay the admission and sample the wines and she said no. I have never been treated so poorly at an establishment... More

An interesting visit if a little quick as you're whisked around with guide, Jesus. He isn't the most smiley or upbeat of characters but is informative about the various processes and grape types that this place produces. You get a lot, lot of tastings at this bodega which isn't actually that good as after this first vineyard of several at... More

This was the first Bodega we visited in Ica and were blown away by the grounds itself. We took a cab there from our hotel and when driving through the town, our expectations of the wineries were lowered. Once we pulled through the gates this blew us away. We did the tour and tasting which was 5 soles each. Our... More

We booked a 2 day trip to Ica/Huacachina through Magical Cuzco Tours and they hooked us up with an amazing guide (I cannot recall her name!) from the north East US (I want to say maybe Vermont) who met and married a Peruvian years ago and they now have a 7ish year old daughter. She was great very accomodating. Anyways,... More

Our hotel recommended this bodega, so we grabbed a taxi and arrived in late morning. We were visiting in early January, which was low season. There was an English speaking guide, and we started the tour right away, but we were rushed throughout the entire tour. He talked fast, didn't ask if we had any questions, and when we did,... More

For a winery in the city of Ica (since most are a distance outside of Ica), Bodegas Vista Alegre is a god option. They offer tours in the morning and afternoon (but check ahead of time for the hours since they have a one or two hour lunch break when it is closed) for 5 soles a person. The tour... More
