Worth taking this trip on your way to the rice terraces. It is a longer route than the overnight straight to banaue but absolutely stunning vistas and both bagiaou and bontoc are welcoming and interesting villages well off the beaten track.

I did this trip in reverse i.e. Bontoc to Baguio. I agree that it is a very scenic and an enjoyable stretch of road with great views of various types of rice terraces and vegetable terraces.
