Worth taking this trip on your way to the rice terraces. It is a longer route than the overnight straight to banaue but absolutely stunning vistas and both bagiaou and bontoc are welcoming and interesting villages well off the beaten track.

I got this pics when travelling the road to Bontoc. Unluckily, my camera battery's dead and i forgot the charger in my sister's house. I only got the Atok pictures, but my visual memory is full.

Well improved highway system in the Cordillera. Most, if not all, of the roads are already cemented and erosion-prone areas improved with cement and reforestation

I've passed through here countless of times on the way to Sagada or Bontoc and I've always been held in awe. The highlight for most commuters is the highest point (7400 feet) along Halsema near Atok.

It is open when not stormy or heavy rains. Just like in Chitral.
