Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Built the 15 hundreds, almost 5 centuries ago , by the order of the Wallachian king Petru Cercel , it is the "Royal" church of the court of Targoviste (Targoviste was the capital of the Wallachian kingdom through the centuries).
So it is fairly small , compared to other churches or cathedrals, still what is missing in size it definitely makes up for when it comes to its historical importance and the decorations inside.
The paintings are pretty well preserved and although the Royal court and palace is in ruins , the church still stands tall beside the former palace ... for those interested in Wallachian architecture, this is a very fine piece to check-out.
So when you are visiting the former Royal court ... check out the church ... it is worth a few minutes and several pics.

Excellent and well preserved church. Detailed and fascinating interior. It seemed aceptable to take photographs and the light was also good for this. A very quiet and calm place. We were the only visitors at the time we were there, unusual for such a large attraction. Well worth a look.

Well, the church was being renovated when I was there. But we could go in anyway. A lot of old icons, paintings there. It is called "princely church" because it was set aside for the worship of the regal family.

The church is very old but the architecture is so beautiful and also the painings inside are in the splendid bzlyzantine style. A litrle sad as the iconoclast was in reconstruction.

Part of a citadel more than 500 years old this church has paintings from 1800 and an incredible architecture. If you are in town you must visit this unique church built in 1585.

The Princely Church from Târgoviște is an old but full of history Romanian monument; some of the inside painting is still visible, while the rest is being restored. There are several non-standard elements for an Orthodox church that make it worthwhile to visit (e.g. the special entrance from the nearby Princely castle through a special passage).

It was an old church steeped in history, but we heard way too much information. If it's possible to do this church without a local guide, do it. We had a great private guide/driver, but he was unable to provide the complete tour of this church. It is very interesting to see what's left from the Middle Ages. Small entry fee for this historically significant place.
