A place full of history!

The complex of monuments that make up the Royal Court of Târgoviţa represents one of the most important architectural assemblages in the Romanian Country, if they are of great historical and artistic value. The royal residence for several centuries, the Royal Court offers the possibility to know the chapter in the history and medieval art of Romania.

This place is nice and with an old feel to it. It is currently in a program of reconstruction from the information i have. Hope they will add more info boards about each part of the castle as this could be a remarkable atraction with good care.

This is the old Royal Court, dating from the 14th century. It's worth visiting especially if you are around.

The actual place of Ceausescu’s trial & execution. Bullet holes in the walls. If you are a history buff you will love it.

Historic place

The old capital of the Romanian country (aka Valahia), visiting this place really takes you back some hundreds of years. The Church and the Chindia tower are the most meaningful attractions, but I would also recommend the museum of old books.

unless you're a very biased Romanian historical sites admirer, visiting this place is a total waste of time and money. paying 12 lei it's not much, but if you consider the "service", I tell you, it's a very bad business for you. nothing to see here, but a lot of bricks. no furniture (I saw only 3 pieces), not too many information, nothing overall. they printed some internet crap on A4 paper and they called this "history". are you kidding me???
I'm definetely not recommending a visit unless you are in the neighbourhood (or passing by targoviste). don't waste your money on the gas to get there cause it's useless. I really don't understand why this site has so many good reviews...I guess that people never saw another hostorical site...

The place may offer you a couple of hours outside, in a place full of history. It is well maintained. Do not miss if you arrive in Targoviste.

Curtea Domnească and Chindia Tower is the landmarks of Targoviste. Иn the complex there is the palace of the roots of it), the church and the Vlad Tepes Tower, from it there is a wonderful view of the city.
There is also a Museum of Printing and Old Romanian Book - unfortunately all explanatory signs are in Romanian.
In the rest of the complex there are bilingual signs and QR codes.
