Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Grammar School is a nice building located in the center of Sremski Karlovci, a town with a lot of wineries. It is a building with a classic red and yellow façade. You can see it, if you walk around the main promenade in the town. Nice

Representative building in the center of the city, named by Branko Radicevic, student who later became one of the most famous Serbian writers.
Exterior is clean, red-yellow painted. In courtyard on the right side you can see statue dedicated to Branko Radicevic.
Interior brings you in past times, nicly carved stairs, beautiful library...

We could not take a look inside this building since it is still a very active educational establishment of the kind which is rarely found these days in the British Isles. There is stiff competition for places and the our guide on the day we visited the town described with great pride and warmth of the wonderful experience she enjoyed there, focusing mainly on foreign languages. The fact that she speaks several European languages very fluently is a testament to the calibre of the school and its stiudents.

The Grammar School or Gymnasium was opened in 1791 and this building completed in time for its 100 yr. anniversary. A small model of the original school is housed in the library, along with books from 1791 and later. Paintings of the original 1891 Gymnasium are hidden high on the wall one of the lobby-landings. I was deeply interested in this institution because my g-g-g-grandfather enrolled here in 1808 and studied for 3 1/2 years before leaving in 1812 hoping to join the battle against the Turks. We attended a choir concert there, in the large assembly hall, the final event of a two week summer workshop. Spectacular vocal work in a very live room. No air conditioning, and the traffic noise was significant, but no one batted an eye.

The school is beautiful from the outside, but we were lucky that our guide, Grada, was able to get them to admit us to the interior while school was going on. One of the students came to be our guide. The interior is beautiful and she was extremely articulate in explaining both the history of the gymanzium as well as the education system as it is now in Serbia. Very interesting.

It is impossible not to notice this beautiful building. Take a moment to look at the detail on the outside.
I went inside and was greeted at the door by two teens sitting at a desk. Unfortunately, you can not tour the building, as it is an active school, without a pre-arranged guide. These teens were nice enough to let me take a few photos.
Nicely, simply maintained grounds around the outside in the front.

We were touring the area and strolling around the town we came across this school building. Our guide gave us a brief history of the school. The building and colour are 'eye catching'.

We were told that this is one of the oldest and best schools in the country.
It sure looks lovely (almost in a Disneyland kind of way).
Unfortunately, as we visited during the summer holiday, the school itself was closed for visits.
