- Martin M1 contributionOdlično iznenadenje u KarlovcimaIdylic small town Sremski Karlovci can surprise you by its famous wines and pleasant people. Podrum Probus is a combination of both, moreover the place can take you to the history of wine and give you an extraordinary experience tasting the special wine Bermet. We found this place accidentally or we could say that the place found us by getting know Vera, welcoming and beautiful host. Bermet was ,,odličan” and Vera gave us everything we could pray for. There’s no doubt we will stop again next time! Best regards, Katarina and MartinVisited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023

- Joe A1 contributionAn afternoon of delicious wine and food!I got in contact with Darko (podrum.probus@gmail.com) and organised a great afternoon of wine tasting and food. Darko is the farmer and gave us an expert insight into the process of making each wine. We had our 3 yr and 6month old sons with us and he was very accommodating. Highly recommended family run winery!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 July 2024

- Kirsty C12 contributionsA must visitIf you visit one winery in Sremski Karlovci, make it this one. It's a small winery that's been in the family for ages and they provide the most delicious homemade food and wine (the family Bermet recipe is excellent, and the hand decorated rakija bottles are a great souvenir). Most importantly, Vera was the most welcoming, entertaining, and all-round most charming host we could've wished for. Truly one of a kind. A few hours in the cellar drinking, eating, and chatting to Vera was a highlight of our visit to Serbia. We'll definitely be going back and have recommended it to our friends. It genuinely felt like spending time with a dear family member - lots of laughs and fun, really special. Thank you, Podrum Probus!Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 29 July 2024
- Анна А1 contributionGreat wine and Serbian hospitalityWe found Vera's winery by chance on the Internet after reading a lot of good reviews. If you want a kind, warm attitude, Serbian hospitality, and an unusual taste of wine, you need to come to Vera. All the wines we tasted were very different, it was very difficult to choose, they were so good. We highly recommend visiting Vera's winery.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 August 2024

Podrum Probus does great wine - but that's not what makes this little independent winery special.
It's the host Vera, whos passion for carrying on the family tradition of wine making and amazing hospitality, that really makes this a unique experience.
The wine tasting consists of 7 wines all produced in-house, in a unique setting (the cellar of their family home for generations).
The Rakija is excellent as well (although beware it is very strong!).
Thanks Vera for the wonderful wine tasting experience.

The wine tasting was arranged by our guide. It was an evening visit. We tasted several kinds of the wine the host has, and rakia was also served later. We listened to an interesting stories, shared some our knowledges on wine producing, and got familiar with some specific details about local wine and traditional wine making in Serbia. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. It was hard to choose which wine to buy, as every wine had a quite unique taste, from lighter white fruity wines to intense red wines. We bought a bottle of red spicy wine which everybody liked a lot. Great experience. If you have an opportunity, call by.

Vera was such a gracious host! All the wines we had were delish. The stories and explanations behind the wine were so very personal and touching. We felt like we were at a long lost aunts house instead of a someone we had just met. Lots of laughs and fun. Thank you Nina from Serbian inspired tours for bringing us here! Great experience!!! Would recommend to anyone looking for good wine and an even better time!

We had an excellent visit to Podrum Probus and Darko was a superb host
We arranged it all by email and Darko was very responsive and helpful
Darko took us through his white and red wines and then on to the speciality dessert wine and then on to the different fruit rakia- all were delicious and despite consuming our way through the bread, cheese and cold meats we were 6 friends who left considerably happier and louder than when we arrived!
The town of sremski karlovci is a very pretty town and we enjoyed a few of the bars in the sunshine before heading back on the 45 minute train to Belgrade
Overall a great trip and so glad we visited

We called up and Vera was available that same afternoon. Us 2 had a great time with Vera. The wine was good and Vera's stories about the wine, local history and culture and Serbian culture as a whole were entertaining and interesting.
Vera as a host takes an interest in you and is very friendly.
Definitely would recommend you to go taste wine here if you spend time in the Novi sad area or Serbia in general!

Vera is an absolute delight to watch and her knowledge is infinite. We had a great time at her winery and even purchased some wines which were very economical. It was the highlight of our trip due to the hospitality. You get to interact with the locals here.

Having read very positive reviews of the Podrum Probus, we were excited to experience this wine tasting for ourselves. After walking from the town center (10-15 minutes), we found the address easily and saw a man in the yard. Without any prior reservation, Drako, Vera’s son, gave us an impromptu, private tasting in the family’s cellar. What followed was two hours of tasting 7 wines and 2 rakia while learning about the wine making process, the history of the family, and general jovial conversation. Drako was a wonderful host and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We happily left with bottles in tow! Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!

We tried ~7 wines, 4 rakias and it worth only 1000 rsd. Wines are strong, so mb they are not for all people, but you definitely need to try them. After degustation you can buy them.
Vera has good english skills, but after rakia you began understand Serbian))0) Vera knows a lot of cool stories of wine and place where they produced.
Mb it would be better if we can saw manufacturing of wine, but we sat in another building near it.

Very nice wine cellar in Sremski Karlovci in authentic Vojvodina house. Family is producing wine for generations, and you can hear the whole story about branding and explanation of production, from the owner Verica. Tasting is special experience. Definitely my favorite is their famous "bermet", special red wine with different spices which was on the wine list on the Titanic ship. All recommendations!

#194! I can’t thank Vera enough for her hard and work to make my in-laws and I feel so welcome in her winery. We we’re friends from the beginning, the effort that was made for us as foreign tourists from different countries made it extra special! We thank Vera for her knowledge of the wines and of the wine making that they are doing. I’m… we can’t wait to get back to this place.
It may be off the beaten path but these are the roads that you want to travel. She is quick with her wit and a smile upon her face. The welcome in so warm it makes the cellar feel warm.
I would gladly take Vera to any place in the world and ask her about the merlot they grow there and share would be very frank about it. My family is waiting on hearing about the next vintages that will be available. Make sure the Vermut and Merlot are part of her tasting, if she has them. Small production and a great family to make them!
All the best in the World!!
Can’t wait to see you again!!

Vera has an unique cellar and the whole experience with her will transform you into an instant wine connoisseur. Very enterprising lady and a warm experience. The wine in themselves are tasty and sensual. Loved the spice induced wines. Not to be missed when you’re in the vicinity.
