Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't miss it!!! We just left it and went to Soljica for a cup o coffee( nice cappuccino guys😉👌) and I can not stop thinking of great treasure we saw inside. We are really grateful for a nice tour provided by museum guide-very knowledgeable and pleasent woman. She gave an excellant overwiev of history of Felix Romvliana it is obvious that she knows much more but clearly concised it for us...With this we can't wait to see Romvliana. Also souvenirs we bought look very artistic- magnets replica of Romuliana artefacts. Don't miss mosaics on the first floor and exhibition on the second also of history of Zajecar( the name came from word zajec-meaning rabbit:-)) we just hope that exploration shall continue and we plan to visit again.

it is a small museum but it has some real neat artifacts. The parking around the area is a little tough to find. The museum is two stories tall so you have to climb up and down the stairs. You can see the scale model of Felix Romuliana in detail.

Narodni Muzej Zajecar is literally The National Museum of Zajecar, a town located in Western Serbia, near the border with Bulgaria. It is an archeological museum, where you can see some objects located in Felix Romuliana, a remains of a Roman city in the surroundings of Zajecar. Before going to museum, we went to Roman Ruins, and they are wonderful, so I expected to see a lot of objects and to learn a lot about Roman-times, but this museum is too small, so you can only see few things like mosaics and several objects. I think that the best option is seeing first the museum and after going to the remains.

We went to visit Felix Romuliana. Since you can buy a combined ticket for both the museum and ruins for only 400 dinars, we availed that. The sign on the door said that the museum is open until 6pm. We arrived around 5:30pm only to find that the door was already locked. I understand that we were a bit late and we intended to follow the working hours and get out of the museum by 6pm, but I guess the museum is using a different clock.

This small museum has expositions with modern art, about local culture and it has the main findings from Roman emperor Galerius' palace here. Don't miss it when you're near.
Helpful English speaking staff.
Very impressive exhibition of naive pottery from local artist Velimir Djordjević.

Our first stop was the archaelogical site itself, near Gamzigrad, where a guided tour is available. After that we went to Zajecar, a former border and trading town, which used to flourish. The guide in the museum was fantastic and precise, so kudos for him. The ticket is valid for both locations.

We first visited the Felix Romuliana archaeological site near Gamzigrad where they told us the tickets are also valid for the museum. Make sure to ask them for a guided tour as the guide is fantastic and you'll have much more of an insight to Felix Romuliana than you otherwise would.

In addition to rooms with mosaics, visit the second floor to get a feel for a more complete picture of the history of this region ...

Nothing special, but still worth a visit if you have time and it's open.
In the town centre. Placed on a nice square.
