Poseidon Diving Trincomalee is a PADI five start Instructor Development Centre. Open from April until October we offer daily diving trips for qualified divers try diving experiences for beginners and all PADI diving courses from the beginner's open water to instructor training. We also run whale and dolphin watching trips and snorkelling trips to Pigeon Island Reserve.

I have made the wreck dive specialty course with Posseidon. Everything was perfect. Before the dive we have discussed everything on whatsapp. I have got a professional theory lesson and a briefing. Which is the most important I felt myself through the dive very confident and in safe. The boat has a very good condition(high standard), the staff is very friendly and helped a lot(helped to find the right cloths and accessories, changed the tank and support to get in and out of the water.

I found them on trip advisor and contacted them months in advance. They always responded very quickly. Initially, my sister and i booked a different guest house that was well rated on booking.com. After an unpleasant incident there left us feeling unsafe, Lala helped to translate and communicate our displeasure to the guest house owner. He also helped to move us over to stay at the dive center instead. It was a rough start to our stay at Hikkaduwa, but it turned out to be for the best. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean and they're right on the beach. As for diving, I did the open water course. The entire team was very professional and really looked out for my wellbeing. I'm definitely not the best swimmer. I've only ever swum 10-20m in tiny pools but never did I feel unsafe with the staff always there to help me. All the staff there seem to move around in the water like they're part fish. I was fine on the first dive but I started feeling nauseous on the second one. By the third dive I was throwing up repeatedly from motion sickness- on the boat, in the water, on the ocean floor. They went out of their way to make me feel better. I felt so horrible, I had no interest in doing the final dive and completing the course. The instructors and boys on the boat kept reassuring and encouraging me while they strapped me into my gear and practically carried me to the edge of the boat. In the water, the dive instructors looked out for me too. I really appreciate all the help and support I received from the entire team. They were all brilliant and I am so grateful to them. Everyone was friendly and kind. There is absolutely no way I would have made it through this course without them!!

I was on Sri Lanka for a total of 2 weeks and used the first week to travel around the country. I enjoyed my second week in Hikkaduwa in the Poseidon Dive Center. I met Joe and Ariana on a safari before. It turned out that Joe and Ariana worked as a diving instructor at the diving center and so I decided to spend the rest of my days there. It was the best decision. The rooms were well equipped and clean. There was an a/c and hot water. The staff were all really nice and especially Joe and Ariana made my stay very special. The poseidon is a very professional diving school and the whole team works like clockwork. If you want to spend great days in Hikkaduwa, I recommend poseidon 100%!

I wasn't impressed with the macho attitude to safety. When I discovered that my depth gauge was broken I tried to signal to the leader when I wanted to know what depth we were at so he just did OK signs and swam on. My dive companion discovered that her pressure feeder was not working and when she showed the leader it was the same thing. Afterwards when she pointed out that she was nervous the rest of the dive, the staff laughed at her. I do not think the dive was dangerous in any way but the attitude makes you wonder if there is more that does not work.

Bad experience booking 2 dives here. Staff was friendly but inefficient, had to wait 2 hours before getting on the boat, then a long gap between dives that I was told would be 5 minutes. Despite earlier intimation that I’m an advanced diver, took me on 18m dives.

I don't recommend it, my husband almost died. He had faulty equipment, oxygen completely ran out at 12 meters!!! The instructor is Russian. Offered to pass the Edvans level “read the theory yourself, take the exam here”

I picked up a recommendation for Poseidon from the Girls that Scuba Facebook page/group and I have to say I have zero regrets for making the choice to dive with them. The dive team are all absolutely superb, the whole crew, including those that make you hot coffee after your dive are so warm, kind, friendly and helpful. I've met some amazing divers over my 8 dives with them of all nationalities. We've had some great dives and some great fun and the crew are simply awesome always there to help and support. Thank you all sincerely, I've come away with some great diving memories from Hikkaduwa and hope to join the Poseidon team all again on the East Coast in the future. A really great experience. I would thoroughly recommend Poseidon both for tuition / new divers wanting to take OW and also for advanced divers like myself who want to see the best that SL has to offer. And also fabulous value for money. 5 stars from me 😁🤿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A great place with a unique location next to a beautiful beach with very friendly and professional staff including diving instructors.
We had an amazing experience diving for the first the time. The instructors were very professional and guided us every step of the way paying close attention to our underwater movements at all times.
Also the food at the restaurant was delicious!
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to learn diving for fun or professional purposes.
We can't wait to come back again to this place.

I had my son do the open water dives of his PADI certification through Poseidon in Trincomalee. Praveen helped set everything up and was very communicative and quick to respond to inquiries. Dayan was an amazing instructor for my 13 year old son and great teacher. Very patient and really instilled confidence in him and his two other friends who also got certified. Its sad to see the negative reviews on here as this was not our experience. I did several dives with the Poseidon team while my son got certified and all the dives were an amazing experience around Pigeon Island. The team (Thilak, Chaitan and Guru) took the time to show us around the reefs and were all very experienced. Safety always came first. We looked at a couple of other diving centers nearby but found Poseidon to have the best local team that gave us one on one attention. The equipment was great and the conversation with the team, even better. I can wait to go back and do more diving with them.

I decided spontaneously to finally do my diving license while in Sri Lanka, and read a lot about Poseidon, so I literally made my way over there and asked if they had a course I could join. Since there was one that started in the morning, they offered me to catch up with the theory and jump right in. Which is what I did and it was the best decision I could make.
Not only, because diving is an amazing experience you don't want to miss out on, but also because Poseidon is a highly professional diving school, which delivers by the highest standards and that you feel around everything. Instructions, organisation, safety, a lot of fund and great staff.
We were lucky to have Praveen as an instructor, whose knowledge and teaching skills made this whole experience even better. This was well invested days, that I surely won't forget! Thanks for a great time and the gift of diving!

Thank you for your inquiry. The PADI Open Water Course costs 58500 LKR. The price includes classroom and video sessions, confined water sessions and four open water dives. And manual, log book and certificate.

This is possible which will cost you around 50 USD Approx for the adults (I got this rate though you need to negotiate as this is as a fun dive), However not too sure about the kids...
