Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In front of the two hotels Royal Palms Beach and Tangerine, the beach is properly clean. North of these hotels, very dirty and no cleaning whatsoever it seems.

Kalutara administration has a huge potential for improvement if they are really keen on attracting tourists.

We went to see the beautiful beach of Kalutara at the beginning of February. On the day we came to spend a holiday at the tangerine beach Hotel . The Green sea behind the tangerine beach was beautiful but looked very rough.. That area is not suitable for swimming. We spent a lot of time on the beach despite the hot sun. The sea area was splashed with green color and a special number of shells could be seen all over the beach.

The ideal time to visit the long beaches of Kalutara is from September to April where the sea is calm and less waves. The North Area is more touristic and the Kalutara town and calido beach is more popular with locals. the Kalu Ganga also flows and meets the Indian Ocean in Kalutara.

We have just completed an amazing 2 day tour for my partners birthday using suresh tours. We were introduced to him by someone who has been visiting for years and he didn't disappoint. He planned our trip to the wildlife national park, hotel stay and sigiri rock. The journey was easy wirh as many stops as needed, the hotel villa fresco was beautiful with dinner and breakfast included and suresh even organised a cake.
It was lovely to be able to trust someone to do as they promised and even go that one step further. He did not over charge and was as good as his word on all trips we took with him. He helped make our holiday truly amazing. Thank you Suresh.

Silky soft sand - just like walking on silk! So relaxing and clean with a gentle breeze at times which eases up the sun factor now & then (Visited Feb 2007)

There is no longer a beach here at all. It’s been washed away by the sea. There is only one small section of beach which is accessible via very slippery sandbags that have been made into steps not accessible for people in wheelchairs or with disabilities. Also the sea is extremely rough and has a big undercurrent, so do not go into it at all above the knee as you will be swept out very very quickly indeed.

Spectacular but not for families - only for strong swimmers. Is a very long beach you can walk along
