The lake forms a beautiful focal point for the town. The shame is that the roads round it and in the city are clogged with smelly traffic.

Attractive lake with small island in it. We saw fish, big lizards, turtles and many different birds.

This is a must see. Just a stroll around on a good cloudy day with the kids was pretty fun. We also took the boat trip (1500 per person for 20min) was a bit much for it but it was a good change from the hassle of the town. Oh and keep in mind the people selling little toys around... More

Lots to see at this quaint town. Many interesting things going on all the time. Loved the lake in the centre of the town. Temple was amazing, & a must to see.

The lake is something you are going to see if you are going to Kandy as it is in very close to the temple. The lake has amazing legends that I would recommend reading about; other than that it is "just" a lake. Pro tip; -Great spot for picture taking, especially sunsets!

The Lake itself and around the lake is a beautiful place to see and do a walk around on wide sidewalks. There are a lot of different trees and you also can see many animals like monitor lizard, turtles or lots of birds.

Our hotel was near the lake so we walked by it every day of our stay. If you spend any time in the main town you will see it so no need to make a special effort. Some parts seem cleaner than others but all in all it's a nice place to sit by and rest your legs. Along the... More

There is a nice level walk around this pleasant lake in the centre of Kandy. Go in the early morning or late afternoon.
