At the main entrance I was asked for a bag inspection by the one security guard sitting down. He told me I couldn’t bring my digital camera in despite numerous people with backpacks walking in straight past us (one holding a huge tripod!) He said we’d have to wait 15mins so his superiors could leave before we went in or leave the camera in his shack (I wouldn’t as it’s expensive!) Frustrating and embarrassing as he didn’t ask another single soul for a bag search in that time despite us pointing to people. Google says this is a great photography spot as well so I don’t know if this guy was just looking for some kind of tip?? Even an Indian by-passer was on our side but the security guy wouldn’t budge. Did manage to get in after the 15mins wait with my camera. Beautiful place, golden jackals abound, and one dumb security guard

The Sanjay Van visit was interesting on a nice winter morning. Pretty dense area, so best to go with a group of people, for safety and just for the sake or the more the merrier. We were out and about and wanted to check this out since a few of us hadn't seen it before. Saw lots of monkeys etc. thankfully, no one came too near us.

To experience a little bit of what nature has to offer then Sanjay van won’t disappoint you! Full of peacocks, small streams, goats, dogs, pigs, birds, squirrels and if you might get lucky you may even with an antelope (Indian blue bull).
This forest also has open air gymnasiums on each of their exits which is a real treat! You must try and get a workout! A good place for your mountain bike or even just to jog or walk with your friends or family. Sanjay van also has a medicinal forest that one can explore if that interests you.

I went to this place in the morning as a part of my morning walk. Fantastic place with roads inside forest for people to do exercise. Some of the things observed were Jackle, Nil Gai, Patrige, mokeys and many variety of birds. My only concern area here is
1. I found there are some bulls - say around 20 left open which is actually detrimental for the entire area.
2. The untreated affluent from Nallah is creating some air pollution in patches of forest.

Someone should take note and take corrective steps. But somehow this place is a paradise in Urban jungle for nature lovers.

Sanjay Van is located near Qutub Minar on Aruna Asaf Ali Marg. It is a much needed piece of greenery amid of world's highest polluted city Delhi. When the city is gasping for oxygen, it is providing with some fresh air to its visitors and people staying nearby. Lots of people comes here for morning or evening walk, running n exercise. It has ruins of original lal quila which was built by Prithwiraj Chauhan. It also has its diverse flora n fauna which is truly a mind refresher. Last but not the least, it is also one of the most haunted places in Delhi.

One can cycle down or walk into Sanjay Van through one of its many entries. There is a wide variety of trees and shrubs which are native to the aravali ranges. There is a natural lake where you may spot some water birds. For rock climbing enthusiasts there are some natural rocks to climb. The lush greenery and the view of the qutub minar are enchanting. There is an area featuring medicinal plants. Children can cycle along the route. It is best to go for a morning walk or leave the van before sunset to avoid any lonely spots. Enjoy warm paranthas if you step out of Sanjay Van onto qutub institutional area. It is a frequent place for students and bikers to enjoy a bite

Of the many reasons to visit this forest near Qutub Institutional Area, the best is the sheer volume of stories about it. From being the home of djinns and other spirits, and more recently, criminals, Sanjay Van offers a breathing space for nature lovers and a safe haven for the local fauna. Best time to visit is winters to chance upon some migratory birds. Kindly restrict visit during daytime.

Sanjay Van is a city forest area which is located in South Delhi near Vasant Kunj. It is a densely wooded forest and is home to plenty of birds, making it a haven for nature lovers. It is stretched for over 3 sq km and has multiple points of entry and exit. There is no entry fee and the forest is open on all 7 days. Visitors can take a stroll through the forest, especially during winters when the forest is at its thickest with vegetation. It is best to be dressed in full-length clothes in order to avoid being pricked by thorny bushes while taking a stroll.

The dirt trails and plentiful shade of Sanjay Van make it among the best places to run and stroll in Delhi. One can easily string together a 5-10km run out of the various looping trails. A quiet, peaceful place. Unlike other parks, I've never had problems with monkeys here. There are some dogs but they're totally calm.

If you are looking for a quite get away and an oasis in South Delhi it is the Sanjay Van park which has a lake called Neela Hauz. the bio diversity park is quite sprawling where greenery in peak summer is good. There is a neat trail which can allow you to cycle. Maintenance is good. U can park your car and get in. However it has a spooky feeling and it's not crowded as such. The main park is deep inside. There were some good species of birds so if you are a bird watcher please take a pair of binoculars. Worth going for that small break when you are fed up of urban life
