This is our second tour with this company (Mumbai + Delhi) and it went just as wonderfully as the first! What I liked about the Delhi tour was the focus on Sikh culture which I knew so little about! The food we tried was all phenomenal and although I had been in India for a month already it wasn’t dishes I had already tried (except for butter paneer masala w/ naan but this was at the place that INVENTED it). The tour guide (Karni Singh) was kind and answered all my questions even when they weren’t food related. Taking a food tour through one of the most hectic places in Delhi is no easy feat and he handled it with grace. Totally worth the money and a great way to actually enjoy a day in this crazy city.

Couldn’t recommend this enough! We loved our food tour in Old Delhi, it is a fantastic way of discovering local delicacies & snacks whilst exploring an incredible part of this city at the same time. Show up starving, our only mistake was having breakfast that morning!

Taste sensations at every turn and a really authentic way of seeing Chandni Chowk on foot, rather than by rickshaw. Gajendra was an excellent guide and led us through so many types of local food- we’d been in India for two weeks and still tried a lot of dishes we hadn’t already tried.
Excellent communications prior to booking and great flexibility with timings. Also a very small group- only 4 of us.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a chefs tour as something really cool to do in Old Delhi. It’s more than just food!

Great walking and food tour of the area. We visited around 6-7 of the 20 different markets in the Chandni Chowk area, tasting around 13+ different types of street food, chaat, and desserts. Karni was a great tour guide, educating us not just on the food but the history and heritage of the area. Highly recommended food tour of Old Delhi!

We had an amazing trip with Gajendra, it was a highlight from our trip to India. Our guide was an amazing host and we got to try things we never knew existed which was exactly what we wanted. The food was incredible along our journey and we saw a side of Delhi that was magical.

Fantastic food tour! Gajendra is highly knowledgeable about Old Delhi, and the food was superb. Encountered a plethora of new tastes, experienced cultural nuances, and yes, there were crowds - so many people around!

A delicious feast and crash course in Delhi food. Bring your appetite! Our guide Gajendra took care of us and helped us walk the very bustling streets around Chandni Chowk. We could NOT have managed this on our own. Excellent quality and variety of food, well worth it. Leave buffer time to make sure you arrive on time.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Gajendra! I have done A Chefs Tour in Chiang Mai and I think this one was even better! My friends and I said among ourselves after that we simply would not have been able to navigate Old Delhi on our own. Gajendra was a total gem - he had so much information, not only about the food but about the culture and daily lives of people. The 4 hours flew by! It was also great to go into the Sikh temple and up to the top of the Spice Market - these little touches put it way above a standard food tour. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Delhi.

Tip: wear comfy shoes you don’t mind getting destroyed. It rained the day we went and the old town was one big mud puddle!

Hello Kathleen, It was so nice to see you again on our tour, this time at Delhi. We are pleased that the experience went beyond your expectations and you had a fantastic time. Indeed, Gajendra is a gem of this tour! He will surely be thrilled to hear your feedback as we share this to him. We hope the remaining of your Indian trip had been excellent too. Looking forward to see you once again on our other tour locations! Best, Erica @ A Chef's Tour

I loved this food tour! Old Delhi can be overwhelming so it was nice to have an experienced guide show me around and take me to the best street food stalls.

Gajendra is friendly and engaging and offered good insight on all the dishes we tried on this tour. I must have had like 10-12 dishes, many from heritage stalls that have been around for generations. I had lassi served in a ceramic cup, stuffed parathas, paneer curry with freshly baked tandoori naan, mango kulfi, and the best jalebi in town, among many others. Everything we had was interesting and delicious. We even climbed to the rooftop of the spice house to enjoy chai tea whilst enjoying bird's eye views of the city!

Gajendra took me to a Sikh house of prayer as well which I really enjoyed. I had never been to a Sikh temple before so I had no idea they offered free meals to visitors. Gajendra showed me the kitchen where we watched volunteers prepare bread and soup in huge vats before serving them to people in the dining room. It was nice to be in such a welcoming place where people of different backgrounds could peacefully sit and enjoy a simple meal together.

If you're visiting Delhi and want to safely explore its street food, then I highly recommend going on this tour. I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this, but eating at the wrong street food stalls can potentially upset your tummy (ie Delhi belly), so it was a relief to have a local guide like Gajendra take me to all the best places. It made the experience so much more enjoyable.

Hi JB, Thanks for joining us on another one of our foodie tours! That secret rooftop tea overlooking the spice market is our fav spot along the way! Gajendra is an amazing guide and really knows his stuff when it comes to Delhi cuisine. Looking forward to seeing you on another one of our foodie tours soon. All the very best, A Chef's Tour
