We had such a fabulous time with our guide Shailesh on A Chefs Tours Mumbai Hidden Street Eats by Train I wish I could give them ten stars. Fabulous food and such authentic unforgettable experiences - it felt like we were exploring Mumbai with a friend.
Our tour took place February 25 before the virus shut everything down. Once it is safe to travel again highly recommend you book this tour ( believe the have renamed now as I booked at least a year ago) and if you had to cancel rebook !

The food was absolutely delicious. Additionally, our guide, Pooja was amazing. She was very well prepared and took good care of us. She diligently set expectations on what each part of journey would be like through the busy streets and crowds of Mumbai. We got a great tour of places we would not have known to go and learned a great deal of history.

My wife and I did this tour in March 2023 and absolutely loved it. It is so much more than a food tour - we explored some of the wonderful and very lively local neighbourhoods of Mumbai, and we visited temples, markets and took a short train ride. The street food is incredible - so diverse and very generous servings (there were about 14 dishes in total). You won’t go hungry. But the star of the show is the tour guide (Pooja). She is so warm, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable, and she made the whole experience so seamless, interesting and fun! We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see how the locals live and eat. It’s also worth mentioning that Pooja was always very conscious of hygiene. Bottled water and hand sanitiser was always available, and we took a long flight back to the UK the next day with no issues. Thanks for the amazing tour Pooja. We’ll be back!

We booked the Mumbai food tour because we felt that this could be an out of the box experience for two people who are seeking out incredible food experiences even though they’ve been born and brought up here. Personally, I enjoy discovering local places to eat but I am always bound by my urge to eat the same food over and over again. But being around the right person who can push us out of the comfort zone is important. I’m so happy to have met Pooja who showed us all the right places to eat- places that wouldn’t have been on my radar had I not signed up for this food tour. I loved the personal touch that Pooja added to every little story that she’d tell us along the way. She was connected to the food and that was really nice to see! :)

Pooja was caring, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Her light-hearted humour and her thoughtfulness made sure that everyone bonded over delicious food in her presence! A good storyteller, Pooja shared amazing stories about the legacy eateries we went to. I thoroughly recommend her tour to anyone and everyone! Loved your vibe, Pooja!
You better not go to this tour with any food in your tummy. No matter how much we ate, we somehow still found place to eat a little more. Your choice of places were fabulous. They were curated mindfully and with a lot of intention. Loved that about the tour!

This tour is totally worth the try! The most amazing thing was that our guide, Puja, took us to many different places by foot and by train and she explained a lot about Mumbai's history and culture. It wasn't only a food tour, but a very complete guide about the city's life style.
We took the tour on our first day in India/Mumbai and it was really the most perfect start to gain some trust while walking around and grabbing something to eat.
We recommended to everyone visiting Mumbai. Now we are planing on booking our next tour in Bangkok with a chef's tour! :)

We did this tour with Pooja on Saturday and it was absolutely incredible! As our guide pointed out we were in for a treat. We walked, got on the train, ventured into busy markets and ate our way around town learning more about the city’s rich history and communities. Try to have a very light breakfast and skip lunch as you want to make sure you eat everything that is presented in front of you.

This was one of the best food tours I've ever had. Pooja was so knowledgeable and so comfortable, she put everyone at ease. Not only did we learn about food, but about the stories, history, culture and people that built Mumbai. It felt like we getting know and see the parts of the city that tourists may not know about. I highly recommend this tour - I wish we had done it at the beginning of our stay in Mumbai, instead of the last day!

This tour was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. It was not just great food but a cultural and city revelation as well, explanations on how the street food evolved from historical influences. Great company, a wonderful local guide and fun company for the evening. A brilliant experience I’ll be repeating now in other cities. Thanks again 😃

I loved the tour so much! Pooja was a wonderful guide through the busy streets of Mumbai. She taught us a lot about the cultural background of different foods and places in the city. I left with a smile on my face, feeling super fulfilled and full :)
