Great place to try the local street food
There is a big selection of street food. Stands with either sweet or savory dishes can be found right and left. The vendors are rather helpful and always eager to get you something you may like. Here you can easily communicate in English and accommodate your order to your liking. As a beach lover, I have to say the beach is , sadly, extremely dirty so I didn't go near the water.

Nice beach located near Marine Drive. Not stunning, but pleasant.
I came with a local. Nice beach. Has lovely views. Not stunning but pleasant. Cool atmosphere. There is an area near the front as you enter where you can purchase snacks. Could be cleaner. Makes a nice walk. Located right near Marine Drive. Attracts a lot of local families. Not too busy on a Saturday morning.

    Good place to picnic
Good place to enjoy your evening in the city. You will get lot of options for local food, mats to sit on sand. People come with family so no security concerns. Not so good to swim. No water activities. But still enjoy in water.

One of the most famous beaches in Mumbai
Had been to this public sandy beach in Girgaon a few weeks ago. This beach is a popular tourist attraction. This beach is visited by locals as well as tourists. It gets crowded during the weekends and public holidays. This beach has street food stalls in one corner selling Bhel Puri, Golas, Chowmein etc. This beach offers sunset views and a viewing deck in one end. It is famous for its Ganesh Visarjan. There are small amusement rides for children. However, it is filthy and dirty due to tourists littering on the sands. Had enjoyed strolling on the beach and the cool breeze. This beach is an ideal place for families, couples as well as friends. It is a must visit and should not be missed.

    Can be skipped.
It's one of the most popular beaches of Mumbai. It's a very touristy place popular with locals and tourists alike. The place has dozens of eateries serving local and Indian cuisine. The beach and sea is pretty dirty. You can rent mat for ₹30 an. hour for a mat to spread over the beach and enjoy the site. One of those places you can skip and won't miss anything.

We went here on a public holiday it was crowded and very colourful. We had a short walk on the beach and visited the food street corner. You find all your meals there we enjoyed the local dishes like paani puri, phav bujjee, ice gola ended up with paan (sweet beetle) it was great experience.

Chowpatty beach which is one of the most iconic beach where people from all around the world come to visit has been not kept well.Beach is littering with full of garbage on the beach as well as in the water. The whole strech from mafatlal bath to the end is filled with all kind of garbage from platic to glass bottles which also harms the marine life in the water. Strict penalty should be imposed for littering anywhere not only chowpatty beach. In that way the beach can also be maintained amd we can also maintain the iconic value of the beach amd the beautiful Arabian Ocean. Prime minister Swacch bharat Abhyan should be strictly followed as its always said that Cleanliness is next to Godliness.Appropriate authority BMC should take strict cognizant of this and appropriate action should be taken

There is no civic sense. The beach is littered with waste objects. Nightmare for beach lovers. Failed to understand why it is not maintained when trip to Mumbai city is incomplete without visiting Chowpatti beach. Mumbai is gifted with so many braches but, alas! most of them poorly maintained...

Excellent dosa and lassi from one of the stalls (near the beach of the left side). Brilliant atmosphere which you can absorb along the beach watching families eat their dinner or dip into the water. And the floodlights on the beach are a unique touch. It would be an interesting idea for Manly or Bondi beach in Sydney, although I am sure almost every local would object.
