Also, we were there on Holi and not much going on. Further, not the nicest market. Yet, I guess it interesting to see a local market. There is a nasty area for selling small animals. There was produce (fruits) but according to our guide the produce was not locally grown but instead imported from places like California and Washington state.

There are shops inside the market where you can shop for a variety of items including candies, pastas, fruits, animals, suitcases, and more. There weren't a lot of tourist-friendly restaurants in the area, and the whole area is unmarked and hard to navigate. I almost missed the outside portion of the market because it was covered up with walls and... More

The sprawling market based in South Bombay offers you everything from fruits to pets. However, one has got to be good at bargaining to get a good deal. A word of advise, don't buy a pet dog or cat from this place as you can't be assured of the pedigree here.

Very large market. Easy to get lost. Clean and filled with locals shopping for daily fruits and vegetables. The market is located in an old railway station. This market reminds me of some parts of London. There is a 50 foot skylight that brings natural sunlight into the market. A good place to visit to get the flavor of the... More

Interesting experience. Very crowded and apparently disorganised. Nice building, suffering an in-depth renovation when we visited.

Don't get lost. The market is situated in an old railway station. Walking paths are narrow with most of the space taken up by 1000's of vendors. You'll be forgiven for walking past the same stalls more than once in an attempt to negotiate the market and getting lost on the inside. Find food, clothing, groceries and even pets sold... More
