While the outside is run down, interior especially the ark are great. One sees the Sassoon influence and Silk Road/ British connections. Alas, except for a book of Jews in India, not great gift items.

A lot of people don't know but the synagogue is still open to the public. It is one of the most iconic pieces of architecture in South Bombay and worth a visit.

Airy and naturally lit synagogue beautifully painted in turquoise. Since admission is free, R100 for photography isn't outrageous.
