Neighbourhood: Bandra West
Known as the Queen of Suburbs, Bandra is Mumbai’s favourite neighbourhood Buzzing with hip and artsy events, watering holes in every nook and corner, quaint cafes for every mood of the day, graffitied streets of tiny Catholic villages, stunning views of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and Worli’s skyline from the historic Bandra Fort, are just some of the reasons that makes Bandra a reigning cultural hotspot. All visitors always feel welcomed here by the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the bakeries on Hill Road, celebrities casually strolling around the bylanes of Pali Hill, street shopping on Linking Road, beautiful sunsets at Carter Road & Bandstand and candle-lit historic churches including the centuries-old Mount Mary Basilica.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had been to this historic church in Bandra a long back ago. This church is located on Hill Road.

This church was built by the Portuguese Jesuits in 1575 and dedicated to St. Andrew. The interior of the church is simple having wooden pews, gold guided altar, side altars, windows, pulpit etc. The main altar had a barrel vaulted ceiling. There are tombstones inside and outside the church. The church had a Portuguese styled facade with belfry towers on either side. It was extended in 1966. This church was awarded with the Urban Heritage Award in 2002. Outside the church is a statue of Christ the King and a cross stand. Had attended a funeral mass service in this church as a college student.

This church is an ideal place of worship for Catholics as well as people of other faith.

I came here for mass on Sunday evening. It starts at 5:00pm. The church is pretty, and has interesting graves outside. The mass was short- only 45 minutes. It was a really nice experience. It's right between the shopping area in Bandra and the walking path next to the ocean.

St Andrews Church was founded by the Portuguese Jesuits in 1575 and is aesthetically located on the sea coast of Bandra. One of Mumbai's oldest single stone carved cross is inside the Church Compound. There is a small cemetery at the edge of the church compound and mass is held every day in the church.A Mini-museum exists in the choir loft of this historic church situated in a locality that was the stronghold of the local Bombay(Mumbai) Catholic population.Tourists can visit the church compound as also the interior of this historic church situated in one of the plushest localities of Mumbai.India's famous Bollywood actor Salman.Khan lives in a building named "Galaxy" across the street facing the church. If a non-catholic then combine a tour of Bandra Bollywood celebrities with a visit to some of the historic Catholic churches in the locality.

Nothing spectacular to be honest. Clearly it requires some paint as it looks worn.
Inside also nothing special. But it has its climate. I went there when there was a mass. It was a bit different to what am used to. Kind of happy songs etc. It was nice actually.

Located on Hill Road - crowded and chaotic Hill Road. But once you enter it is absolutely beautiful, calm and peaceful.
Also has St. Andrews College nearby and the auditorium which stages some amazing play and great shows.
