It was an old place of washing clothes by washermen in the past. Nothing worth visiting is there at all. Only a crazy one can have any attraction there.

Over five hundred washermen wash clothes on this ghat for more than 50 years that I have seen them. Many generations have done this work faithfully for years. If you are one of the lucky ones to find all of them in action, you will be utterly amazed. Do go and see the place without fail on your next visit... More

It is a wonderful insight into the hidden world of the Dhobi wallahs but they now charge 300r to go into the washing and ironing site which would be fine if it was clear where the money was going or if it was asked for politely. We always stand above on the pavement for free and take pictures and glimpse... More

Our cruise ship tour stopped here so that we could see the laundry being done. There was no information given -----I guess that they assume that we can work it out! It was interesting. Soon we were approached by a trinket seller. Her child, perhaps 2 years old, was already copying his mother's selling techniques. Yes, we did buy something... More

this place was amazing to have a look at the local life and culture of generations. the only downside was that we've been stopped by a man at the entrance and asked for a entry fee which still worth it. there was not any sign or ticket counter around!

Amazing to stand and see all the activity going on in the open air laundry- be careful of some of the people in the area who are keen to offload information...at a cost

Not as huge as I had envisaged but still gives an insight into the laundry scene in Mumbai. It serves certain hotels but I have been told that this male managed outdoor laundry now comprises of washing machines instead of the age old indian style of clothing washing. It is mainly a laundry drying display of linen. Watch out for... More
