The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Colaba
It’s the tourist central of the city with a liberal dose of rich history, iconic eating and drinking joints and artistic connections that have found prominent mentions in Gregory David Roberts’ Shantaram. Stroll down Colaba Causeway for kitschy street shopping bargains. Take a break at the many laid-back legendary bars & restaurants like Cafe Mondegar or Leopold Café. The vibrant vibe of Colaba is incomplete without the buzz at Mumbai’s most iconic tourist hub, Gateway of India & The Taj Mahal Hotel on the parallel lane. Sprinkled with designer boutiques, quaint cafes with rooftop sea view, the promenade is a popular route to go to Elephanta Caves & Alibaug.

Tends to be a very busy and crowded area during most of the day. Lots of sightseers and tourists looking fir souvenirs and goods at discounted prices. The quality of goods offered is higher than the larger market area close to the main railway station.

Colaba Causeway is an attractive place for almost every tourist and travelers.
.
It has its own charm.

Colaba causeway street shopping is famous for its junk jewellery and clothes. It’s affordable too.

Don’t forget to test your bargaining skills out here.

Causeway is one of the most upbeat markets in old Bombay giving the people choices of trendy fashion outfits to antiques to factory outlets to eateries along with an amazing view of gateway of India

If you are street shopping in Mumbai & looking for a bit upper market purchase, this is the place. Right from current trending clothes, bags, accessories for both male & female (females more options) , watches, imitation jewellery, skarfs, antique things, etc etc Starts around 11.00 am goes on till late evenings. Need to bargain a lot (typically 50 % of initial price). Things are good, Enjoy the shopping with bit of healthly walking.

Don't miss it for the world if you are in Mumbai. Great bargains and great products coupled with the aroma and ambiance of South Mumbai. The Colaba market is a treat for all ages and sizes. Food joints are awesome too from Mcdonalds to Badshah! Awesome Kebabs from Badshah and mouth watering snacks from Kailash Parbat. Huge fun place, don't forget to check out special bargains on clothes , footwear etc. and always bargain hard! Time is never enough here, you can shop till you drop adn still be not done with it.

This is the place to go for souvenir shopping. It’s a buzz of activity with shops and pavement stalls sell trinkets, bangles, handicrafts, clothes, books and jewellery. It’s a friendly bustling place with cafes and bars abounding.

The market is very very crowded. You can buy almost everything you want a dirt cheap prices. They have a lot of artificial jewelry, clothes and nice hand bags and souvenirs.

This was my 2nd trip to Bombay after my brief few hours in 2015, so I made sure I came here again to enjoy this lively city & awesome Colaba.
I love this Colaba Causeway for its variety, prices, lively spirit/environment.
I shopped here on Sunday 24th evening & Monday 25th morning.
I bought a short nighty with a cartoon character on it for just 200/-, beautiful scarves with sequence work for 150/- each, straight skirts for 200/- each, fancy chappals for around 300/- or 350/-, haribo gummy bears, a cute mini torch, hair clutchers. I most regret not purchasing a shell sling purse at Femina bags because it was just so beautiful & I haven't seen anything like it in Delhi or anywhere I've travelled.

People shouldn't compare this market with Delhi's Sarojini Nagar or Janpath markets, because they are completely worthless waste of time & crass. Colaba has a lot of class & a lot of versatility.
The street vendors here are warm, friendly.
I just loved every minute I spent in Colaba so much so that even in my next visit I choose to stay near Colaba & shop till I drop.
