This British era fort is way out in the Worli area, well away from the main tourist circuit of Mumbai. The fort is well preserved and was clearly built with functionality in mind. At one point the fort was in ruins, but had been restored to a maintained state and very European style fort. The fort has a weight lifting room for some reason, but otherwise not a lot to see except the views. There's no entry charge or information boards, so I had to look it up myself. This is a slightly offbeat attraction, but I enjoyed visiting, if only to see other sights such as Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Shree Siddhivinayak and Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount.

Warli fort, located on sea shore. The fort now has access though by lanes of Warli – Prabhadevi area. Fishermen dwell in this area and one can get sight of their houses. We can see busy men and women knitting fishing nets and curating their catch from the sea. A sluggish walk of few minutes took us to the fort and few more steps leads us to the entrance. A pleasant surprise was to see the fort in neat and clean condition, no wonder we were equipped with the information that the fort is kept clean by local residents. Fort houses a temple, a well and makeshift gymnasium. The fort might seem familiar to most of us as we have seen its visuals in movies. One can get an amazing view of Bandra – Warli sea link. We were blessed with great view of sunset over the bay. We had wonderful time clicking pictures, cityscapes and capturing skyline of Mumbai. Clean fort, smooth breeze and setting Sun turned our evening to a beautiful dream.

Is driving south bound on the Bandra Worli sea link you see a Fort like structure, it is the Worli Fort. It is not much of a Fort as it's quite small. However, one gets a good view of the BW Sealink from here. On a clear day you will get some good pictures. Other than that there is nothing else to do.

A lovely place to visit. The open view from the terrace of the fort is fabulous. The almost entire part of "Bandra-Worli" sea link is visible clearly. Also, one can see the panoramic view of the sea link along with the "Mahin Bay".

Worli Fort in current form was established by British in around 1675, but an original fort did exist as depicted in the first Britisher David Davies Journal of 13-15 Oct 1626 when he was aboard an Anglo-Dutch ship to attack Portuguese.
(Facsimile Map is included here, of the copy with Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai)
The Fort is straight 1 km walk from Indian Coast Guard establishment, where you can park your car, though bikes can go almost till one block away from fort. The last 50 steps are approached by a very narrow passage encroached upon by dwellers.
The Fort's base might have been deeper but currently occupied by a Gym, car and scrap parking and some illegal shanties on the seaside. But, inside, the greenery is soothing and a small Hanuman temple is the abode of two cats.
The place gives a panaromic view of the Bandra Worli Sea Link and Mahim Bay.
There is no fees, information board or any official, but locals may guide you for directions or toilet.
It is truly one of Mumbai's jewels and more beautification and awareness is needed.

The place is located along the sea coast and very close to the worli sea link. the place is very old and does require a lot of maintenance work but as for visiting the place is concerned, i did not find anything great about this place except for the fact that its an old fort build by the British and is now a part of the Mumbai's history. the only positive point about this place is, one can get a good view of the sea link(especially during night) and the whole beautiful coast of bandra worli which would be gleaming with lights during night hours. The place is easily accessible by any modes of transportation and the visiting the place is also free. in case you happen to be in Mumbai with family or friends and needs to have a glimpse of Mumbai especially the sea link during night, then this would be one of those spots to be in.
