This is a very quick stop as part of a tour of Jaipur. The driver stopped nearby and our guide took us across the road to tell us about the palace and let us take photos. It was extremely busy with other tourists also doing the same thing as well as people going about their daily business. It's a shame... More

The Palace of Wind was used by the ladies of the royal household to watch events and parades on the street below without being seen by the general public. Although Jaipur does still have a royal household, this building along with the nearby Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory have since been acquired by the state.

I can't speak to the inside of the structure, but from the street, it's a beautiful place and certainly a visual icon of Jaipur. Always a crowd of people on the street and lots of tourist ships next to it and across the street. The best time to check it out is in the morning before the big crowds get... More

Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Wind is located in the old city of Jaipur. This palace was built for the royal ladies to come to see the festivals held in the city of Jaipur. Only women were allowed.
