The area

Neighbourhood: Vadapalani
A densely populated neighbourhood of the city, Vadapalani is an important junction for all local travellers since one of the main bus terminals of Chennai is located here. Most popular for the city’s prolific film studios and the Vadapalani Andavar Temple, the busy streets here are a great spot to bump into some of the big stars who visit the temples here whenever a film is going to get released. Studded with some of the oldest schools, hospitals and colleges, this residential area with a strong pilgrim vibe is popular among the locals for some of the best mall shopping and as an entertainment hub with the biggest multiplexes in the vicinity.

Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple at Chennai Vadapalani is a very famous Hindu Temple. There are separate Sannithis for Lord Muruga, Lord Shiva and Sri Anjaneya. There are sannithis for Lord Muruga with Valli & Deivasena and a beautiful Urchavar too! The temple is maintained very well and Poojas are offered regularly. Outside the Temple on the eastern side there is a big temple tank with water to the brim. The Temple is situated in the heart of City, Vadapalani area.

Recently i had been to vadapalani temple.
Had a great darshan of andavar.
Lord Ganesh.
Because of large pilgrimage with full of devotees temple looks small Eventhough it's big.
PRASADam is great and reasonably priced.
We have to appreciate temple organisers and disciplined devotees so that every devotee had great darshan.
Don't miss lord anjaneyar temple inside.
Request to authorities to pay attention on parking for two wheeler and four wheeler and make proper arrangements.
Regards

Vadapalani Murugan temple is one of the most popular temples dedicated to Lord Murugan. Got to visit this temple few times with family & friends.

On 31st March 2016, got to visit this temple again with my mom. Lord Murugan idol seems to be so beautiful, it is also believed that worshipping Lord Murugan here is as pious as praying to him at the Original Palani temple.

Had a great day with the blessings of Lord Muruga. Offered our pranams & had a great dharshan.

Feels very local and authentic, beautiful interesting temple in heart of Chennai. Left our shoes outside and found people offering us other people's when we left! Made us laugh. The street as you approach is full of smels, flowers to leave at the temple and local stalls.

Important and inevitable spot for chennai hindu devotees. .very big temple. At a time more 50 marriages taken place here .. very famous for conducting marriages .. vadapalani is equally famous to palani. Palani is one the six houses of Lord muruga. . anyhow this is temple treated with the same importance by the chennai people. But it is only a pilgrimage spot.

Had a very satisfactory darshan of Lord Muruga. The temple is very well maintained by the trustees and very serene surroundings. We were lucky to hear Dr. Siva Chidambarams rendering of the devotional songs in person. The archanai is performed in the prahara without any disturbance to other devotees. We had a very hearty darshan and came fulfilled.

The temple is good but lot of crowd will be there and to reach this temple you have travel in very thick traffic. So to avoid the crowd and traffic plan to have darshan in the morning and leave the temple by 9 to avoid stuck in the traffic.

This temple is near vadapalani bus stand and easy to reach any where from chennai. The temple is small compared to many other temples in tamil nadu, but in the evenings temple will be crowded with many devotees.
