Just like me who is falling short of the right words required to describe the magnificence and the beauty of the bridge, you'll have the same feeling when you'll visit this place. The bridge named as Coronation bridge (in order to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) or Bagh-pul (because of the existence of two tiger statues at the beginning of the bridge) happens to be 30 minutes from my house and I used to visit it almost every day back when I was in school. My great-grandfather was apparently a part of this project during the construction of the bridge from 1937 to 1941. If you want to visit this make sure you do not pester the monkeys that are around they will do likewise. If you want to burn some calories then there are steps that lead to the riverbed below. You can climb down but make sure you use proper footwear while doing so. The best time to visit it is during late evening when you can watch the sun go down and experience the smooth, calm and therapeutic breeze that flows over the river. The bridge has recently been repainted and it looks beautiful. If you want to get a better view then cross the bridge and head towards the view point located just a minute away.

Here's some trivia: The bridge has two pipes in the middle (you can still see them) that were initially meant to be used for destroying the bridge with demolitions whenever necessary but they have been sealed now.

If you have nothing to do go there. But the road from siliguri take about 30 minutes. To take the pictures you have to walk little bit away from the bridge.

If you are passing by it, do stop by & take a walk. Has a beautiful view of the river, surrounded by hills. It also has a certain old world charm to it.

It's just an old bridge on the Teesta river . Pretty scenic area with the greenery and the fog covered hills . It can get pretty crowded due to the constant movement of heavy traffic and army vehicles .

Only for people who like bridges ;)

Coronation bridge is just another bridge if you look into the structure but if you know what and how this bridge has contributed towards the development of the North Bengal region of West Bengal province (Kalimpong and Sikkim in particular), thats when it becomes important and something to look into. The time at which this bridge was built, it was considered as an architectural wonder but you'd see a lot of bridges better than this now. If you're going to Kalimpong or Sikkim, you'll pass this bridge anyway.

The Coronation Bridge is a engineering marvel and connects two mountains. Its a famous Picnic Spot for the locals. There are a few small dhabas for you to get tea etc.

You can walk down to the river which flows below the bridge, though not advised for old people or people with medical problems as it is a little steep.

Good place to visit out of the city if you have time.

Really a picturisque place , the bridge is on the mountain river Tista, high hill on the both sides. This on the way to Gangtak from Siliguri - a district on the north Bengal of India.

Coronation bridge lies adjacent to the very busy Siliguri-Gangtok highway near Sevoke town. It's not a proper tourist spot as such, but it's a nice place to just stop for a while and savor the surroundings - tall hills covered with dense jungle, deep river canyon, Teesta river flowing slowly below and ... lots of honking traffic :-). It is a British-era bridge built over a single-arch that's quite tall, which makes it somewhat of a engineering feat even for present times. People have been asking for it to be declared a heritage site. The road over it connects to Bhutan.
