if you are visiting Olinda, it is well worth popping into Misericordia Church. The names of the Churches in Brazil are very confusing, with both English and Portuguese versions commonly used. It took me a few days to see it as it is often closed, but my when you do get in it is lovely, so old world and quaint. SOme magnificent altarwork and wall decor. The face is magnificent, perhaps the nicest in Olinda. Absolutley worth it.. be patient!
