Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is difficult to find but you'll be rewarded many times if you love arts..It was a revelation to me as I didn't expect to find anything new in the world of ceramics..But instead I was thrilled to enter the world of an artist with a sensitive soul and open mind...Magnificent, impressive, his imaginary creations touch your heart, reach out your nerves..It was lonely, rainy and very overwhelming but certainly worth a visit to Recife in low season to discover the world of Francisco Brennand for a small fee and fall in love with his sculptures for the rest of your life....

It's a bit far from the center of Recife but it is totally worth a visit. There are nice sculptures all over the gardens. The ambient is very calm and peaceful. The restaurant is very good, try the greensalad and a mixed juice!

it is a perfect example how ONE artist, a bit Megalomanic, can create his own world but has used also his creative mind to restore
a part of Brasil history, but please keep in mind that only a few miles away, normal Brasilians only earn $ 200,-- a MONTH today in 2012.!!

An outdoor art gallery with sculptures in the garden. Sort of on the outskirts of Recife, but worth the visit. The on site restaurant was also good.

A very elaborate display of modern art and ceramics by a world renowned Brazilian artist. May not be everyones taste, but the display and grounds are MOST impressive and worth a visit. Take the opportunity to have lunch or a snack at the on-site eatery - VERY good food and service.

Gorgeous parklike setting, very interesting sculptures, as well as paintings. The gardens are beautiful and there's a nice cafe to have lunch. A great days outing.

Unique place that has a lot of pieces of art in ceramic. The sinergy of the place is amazing and Brennand is an artist that used to be friend of Picasso. indescribable

Visiting this unique artist's monumental studio is a must at any visit to Recife! Francisco Brennand was born in 1927 and only in 1971, when he was already 44 years old, he started rebuilding the old brickworks of his family. From ruins he created one of the most interesting open-air museums in the whole world. His peculiar and original art, mainly in ceramics, produce different effects on visitors, who may fall in love or even dislike it. Francisco Brennand can be easily seen at the studio and you will certainly recognize him with his long white beard. At 91, he is still very active and producing awesome masterpieces as ever! Enjoy!

Here is how I define the food at Brennand's Cafe: high cuisine using simple ingredients. My plate had two "escondidinhos de carne de sol", one made with cassava ("macaxeira") and the other with pumpkin wrapped in a collard green leaf (couve). For desert, their "cartola" (a common northeastern desert made with banana, partially melted butter cheese "queijo manteiga", cinnamon and sprinkled sugar) that was also very well made with the particularity that some of the cheese was left to crisp longer and its crumbles piled atop. Great presentation and taste! The gift shop had little variety and the ceramics were reasonably pricy, but I purchased a couple pieces any ways. I did not have time to visit the remaining facilities, but it would be probably a nice place for a stroll that could take at least a couple of hours.

I don´t remember if they have, but they certainly they can keep your luggage in the front desk (taking with you your valuable itens with you and using padlocks in the luggage (clothes), I think it is fine. Just don´t leave valuable itens there.

Vale a pena a visita.
