Great place to talk to locals

We went there after eating dinner, it was dark outside, but the view of the shoreline lit up was wonderful.

I can't believe we have never been to the pier before! We and my sister and brother-in-law went on a beautiful September day to the Gulf State Park Fishing Pier for a walk. It cost us just $3-4 each. There are benches placed all along the pier for sitting. The view is phenomenal! Photo opportunities are countless. The pelicans seem... More

The price is right for visiting the pier. It would be nice if you could purchase drinks or snacks at some point during the pier but they have them at the front near the beach and can't take with you. If you aren't in a rush, this can take awhile..

First of all,Veterans are free to walk the pier. The people working here have always been supper friendly to me.Its a nice walk, about a 1/4 of a mile out to the end. There are bathrooms at the beginning and half out on the pier. There is also a cleaning station if you are a fisherman. You can get a license there at the... More

Maybe I don't get out. It was very interesting to see all of the fishermen and their gear out on the pier.

We were there on a cloudy windy day in December, so there weren't many people around. It was wonderful. I think it is probably too crowded during high season, but a great place to visit if you can get in the parking lot.

We went fishing on this pier for the first timein December 2106 and it was a great experience. The attendants was very nice and had clean bathrooms. They had all the fishing accessories if needed including live bait.

We have family visiting and just about always take our guests to the nearby state park pier. It's always a highlight with a lot of pictures!

My husband and dad fished off the pier a few times. They enjoyed the area and the location. A woman next to them caught a shark!

Spent about 4 hours fishing with son on vacation. We had to get a Alabama pier fishing license which was about $11 and rented pole for about $9. Even though we didn't catch anything, it was worth the trip.
