They rounded up old buildings from all over the area and set them up downtown. There are demonstrations and guides.

Enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this place. Live animals, lots of decorations, and a great little live band playing Christmas songs. One of my favorite things was the blacksmith live demonstration, where several products were fabricated right in front of our eyes.

This is a good attraction for the whole family regardless of age. There are things for children and adults. The guides at the various stations are engaging and interesting. We all enjoyed the wood shop and the print shop. Both guides involved the whole famiy....More

The village is set around the time that Alabama achieved statehood. i.e. 1819 The people are in period clothing and perform some of tasks from that era.

Few streets with nice buildings, nothing else to do. You can sight seeing while driving, no need to actually walk to the houses
